Oh, it's fun!!! Go to a sactioned trial before your own, and bring Caleb. It will be different than show-n-go's, so it's worthwhile to get yourself familiar, and if you're lucky you can get an idea of your competition and the judges. Having been to show-n-go's, you already know SOOO much more than your competition - like, how much time it takes your dog to be warmed up to go in the ring (some dogs need to shoot straight from the car to avoid getting burned out, others need more than an hour to acclimate) You already know what things to avoid, what things to look for... (For me, I always look for the bathroom as soon as I set up - I get nervous bladder every time! lol)
And one more thing... GREAT JOB for training to this level. You and your dog deserve a historical reference to that work, in the form of your AKC record. Good luck, and we're all here to support ya!
