We has a bug! (jennie_c_d)
Unfortunately, I'm not just being cute. Here's the story. Emma, Ena, and I went to a four day dog show over the weekend. We were gone Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Jewel stayed with my Mom. We stayed in a friend's travel trailer. She brought three of her youngest dogs. It...

Bones and teeth
When I took Gibby in for his last exam...and bordatella ( he was going to day care ) they said his teeth are showing signs of tarter. Oh man...he is 1 1/2 years. No...I do not brush them...believe me....its hard as heck to get his nails trimmed because even though he pretty much lets us do anything to...

Layla Vet Visit
So Layla had blood in her urine again today, this time quite a bit more. This happened back in July and the vet put her on Clavamox and that was it. I didn't have a urine sample that time. Well, this time I got one, it was so easy, she didn't even know the I was there taking it! He gave me Clavamox...

Reoccurring Diarrhea
Lexie, our shih tzu is 7 years old. Overall her health is good. She has had two bladder infections a few years ago and does have fall allergies each year. About 2 weeks ago she had diarrhea on a Sunday morning. Her activity level, and appetite all remained the same, but she had loose stools. This went...

Acupuncture
Does anyone have any experience with acupuncture? My dog has bad arthritis and inflammation in one leg due to an old injury and will eventually need surgery, and right now my vet and myself are looking into ways of managing the pain before resorting to surgery. He suggested acupuncture and as I'm...

Boosting the immune system
So Tina went in for her bordatella (required by training center). We checked her weight since we've been trying hard for the past few months to get her to lose some weight. She needs to lose an easy 5lbs. She hasn't lost an ounce in 4 weeks. So that combined with her "being out of shape"...

colitis
My dog periodically comes down with colitis. She is on antibiotics for 2 weeks and then is ok for one month and then the cycle begins again. Her stool gets soft and I bring a sample in and the Vet says she is overrun with chlostridia. Her stool has now been softer for a month and I decided not to bring...

Help with constant mats
I would like to know if there is something I can do to help Skyline with her constant mats. I brush her every second day, bath her with Tropiclean Oatmeal and Tea Tree shampoo followed by Tropiclean Kiwi conditioner. When I groom her I use a greyhound comb for knots and mats and a slicker brush for her...

Question for Callie!
I'm suspecting Maze has a minor thyroid issue but I can't be certain yet. I will be taking her in for an exam and blood test in the next couple months. But my trainer recommended adding Kelp to her kibble twice a day. Her senior gal has a thyroid issue and before they got it diagnosed, thats...

Cherokee stuff...
So the good news out of the last week or two is her pain has been very manageable. She really hasn't been showing any signs of pain, and of course I've been keeping her on the pain meds around the clock. Bad news (and yeah, it's pretty bad) is she can't really stand or walk anymore...

Hiccups
This is the best place I could find to put this...Maggie gets the hiccups often....about once a week...I feel bad for her, I guess, because I hate the hiccups, though she doesn't seem to be bothered. How do you get rid of puppy hiccups? I can't make her hold her breath, REALLY can't force...
