I have an 8 mth old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy and he may have wobblers syndrome. I've had him for a while and he's having problems with simple tasks...like taking a treat from my hand, squatting when he defacates, sitting, and his reflexes are slightly off. I know that he's a large breed...

Hello all, We learned today that my uncle and aunt's mini schnauzer Lady has cancer. She was taken to the emergency vet over the weekend for wheezing, only to find that she has a tumor in/on her lung. They didn't know how attached it was until today when they had surgery done. The original...

Red Belly
Hmmm, I am not really sure if this is truly a problem, but I have been noticing that both Kharma and Zen have had red belly's on and off for a few weeks. It is not all the time, nor is it linked to any type of weather that I can figure out. They seem to be totally healthy in every other way,...

spay -- healing or getting infected?
Hi everyone, Dweezil is my first puppy, so I'm not sure what the spay wound is supposed to look like. She was spayed on monday, so today is the 3rd full day afterwards. I put the e-collar on her at night, and until now I hadn't noticed anything funny about the stitches. I'm noticing just...

Itching, licking paws
Rupert has been itchy and licking his paws more frequently lately. He is not flaky or shedding and his coat is still glossy. Then only new food he has eaten were some treats that a trainer brought on March 10. How do I know if that is what caused the problem? How long does it take for the itchiness...

eye concern
I have a 3 month old Belgian Malinois and he's pretty perfect in every way, aside from a small white/cloudy spot at the top of the brown area, around the pupil of his eye. I'm pretty sure his vision is fine in that eye, but am wondering if this is something I should worry about. I wish I could...

Recommend a good skin/coat conditioner
Recommendations on a good coat/skin conditioner? He gets medicated flea shampoo now, but what is a good combo to use to help restore his shine? He is 14 so he's also going bald in some spots so if there's doggie Rogaine that would be awesome too. I guess its not too bad though, one of my friends...

Any large dog owners
have problems with vomiting? We have a 1 year old DDB, he about 130 pounds and healthy. Every now and then, Baldwin will have problems keeping his food down. This am for the first time, he dry heaved. Clearly he was trying to throw up, but nothing came out. The first thing that entered my mind, blout...

Spayed ... how soon to take her to the dog park?
Hi all, My little girl got spayed last Thursday. She recovered within the second it seems, and I want to know how soon I can take her to the off-leash fenced-in park (where there will be oodles of jumping and running around). The vet said to wait a week before resuming all activities. She's healing...

Histomytosis
My 5 year old sheltie recently had a tumor removed from his mouth along his upper gum line. The vet said it was something called Histomytosis, which can be cancerous. Has anyone else heard of this? And what did you do?

Spaying
I am considering taking a Shih Tzu from someone who has to move (can't take it with her). She's a very nice, friendly dog. My concern is she hasn't been spayed and she's 5 years old. I'm just wondering if this is too old to have her spayed?
