Spayed ... how soon to take her to the dog park?

Hi all,

My little girl got spayed last Thursday. She recovered within the second it seems, and I want to know how soon I can take her to the off-leash fenced-in park (where there will be oodles of jumping and running around). The vet said to wait a week before resuming all activities. She's healing well, and going in on Saturday afternoon to get the stitches out. I'd like to take her to the park on that day. Do you think it's too soon, or should it be ok?

It is up to you when you want to take her...I would wait till at least then or longer. Just know that with the stress of surgery and the body's time it needs to heal, that her immune system is compromised...even if she has had the proper vaccines. Even a perfectly healthy dog's immune system will be compromised under severe stress.

To be honest, I would wait longer than that (and I just had my dog done Thursday). But, ask the vet about your own dog.
