    Red Belly

Hmmm, I am not really sure if this is truly a problem, but I have been noticing that both Kharma and Zen have had red belly's on and off for a few weeks.  It is not all the time, nor is it linked to any type of weather that I can figure out.

They seem to be totally healthy in every other way, I was just wondering if anyone had ever experienced this?

    Thanks![8|]

Where are you located?  (state -- climate - what type of grass do you have)

belly as in low near the groin or the whole area from neck to groin?

just pink or red?  little tiny blisters?  irritated skin?  do they scratch?

sorry - need more input I guess.

Ok, here is some more info:

Pink, not red, no sores or blisters.  Really only where they don't have any of their fur so belly/groin area, sometimes under arm pits too.  We are in Ontario, it has been warming up quite a bit (+8-+10) and we currently have no grass in the backyard as we laid topsoil and seed in the fall.  No scratching, a little bit of licking, but only the normal.

I would never have known other than I can see it as neither of them seem to be bothered by it or even notice it all!

Thats the way Bubblegum looks all the time!

If it's just pink, it could simply be irritation from the carpet when it's been so dry with the heat on.

Little tiny wet blisters (and they will scratch like no tomorrow) can be a contact allergy -- poison oak, night bloomin jasmine, wandering jew, etc. -- but it would be unusual to find TWO dogs not siblings who reacted the same.  Down here in FL, tons of dogs are actually allergic to a component that is in the root system of St. Augustine sod -- everyone's grass! No fun, I tell ya!
