Bailey's first time boarding...
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Bailey is going to be boarding for the first time this weekend! We're going to my aunts house in Rhode island, there are 2 dogs there, but one of them doesnt like other male dogs, so poor Bailey can't come. He's staying at the boarding kennel where I work (The pampered pet), so I know they'll take...

Basset Hound 9years problem undergoing in the nose
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Hello to you all. I have a Basset Hound with 9 years and for about 6 months he is with nose problems. At first, he only sneezed, but then it got more complicated, he was always licking his nose and his nose was always wet and "droping" a kind of mucosis. We went to the Vet and he said it could be...

Dog Show in Perry, GA
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I didn't want to hijack mrv's thread. If anyone is in GA or the surrounding area, there's a big dog show in Perry GA (Fri, Sat, Sun 9/1-9/3) Xerxes and I will be there along with his mom (Edie) and siblings and extended family. Our ring times vary but I think we're at noon-ish on Saturday and early...

Please pardon this long post. Willie -- new golden puppy. Sixteen weeks old. Diarrhea about five days after moving in. The vet prescribed Albon for possible coccidia and heavy bacterial growth in the intestine. Problem cleared up immediately. Was on Albon for two weeks. Three days after being taken...

Doggie drawings
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
So, everyone else is posting their drawings, so I decided to post a few of mine. If any of them look like one of your dogs it is purely coincidence. (so maybe not, but if it doesn't look like your dog and I meant it to, I don't want to admit to it) A fox kit. He looks happy Sophie...

Dog Socialization
Posted to:

I have 2 dogs... one is a six month old Pug puppy, the other is a 2 year old cocker spaniel. We brought the spaniel into our home about a month ago to help keep the puppy occupied and help with biting tendencies. They generally seem to get along very well, and don't even seem to have the usual territorial...

Rose and Puppies
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Rose is the best dog with puppies! She has always been very good with them. Out at the breeder's, she will jump the fences just to get in with a litter. Then she will lay down and let them climb all over her, or even nurse(ok, try to nurse!). After a while, I didn't even bother putting her in a separate...

We currently have 3 pits. 1 9 month old and 2 6 month olds. Up until about 2.5 months ago they all went to work with Bobby. Then they just got too big to all be wondering around a retirement center that they have to stay at home now. We kennel the 6 month olds and put a muzzle on the 9 month old. Due...

Fiesty Fido
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I am working with a client/friend on some fiesty fido issues and was using the Fiesty Fido book (can't remember the whole name) that talks about teaching a "watch" first, then moving into desensitization and so on after. Has anyone successfully taught this and about how long was each person's training...
