Once again my bigg'un impresses me with her defense on the court. I could not dunk on her, or drive to the hoop at all...and she defended the paint with tenacity and a physical presence that could not be denied. First tho we did some grooming outside with the force dryer...think Cleo is ready to...

easy walk harness or gentle leader?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Please give me your opinions on walking shelter dogs with no leash manners (mainly pulling). Which do you suggest or prefer, and why: an easy walk harness or a gentle leader? (30 pounds and up) Thanks.

How to manage an aggressive dog?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
The other Rachel Ray thread was very interesting to me. And, this topic came up. I was hoping someone would post but since they didn't I will. The thread had me thinking about what I do myself and if it's right or wrong. What do you think is needed to manage a dog aggressive dog? I'm...

Chatting on a Wednesday

How to wrap a paw?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Tasha developed an injury on the bottom of her hind foot, in between the pads. In order to keep her from licking it so it could heal, I put a dog boot on that foot. That was fine and dandy, until I took it off and it had rubbed a raw spot on the side of her foot. Now she has made that raw spot twice...

Agility-- how old is "too old"
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Since I've come to the realization that I won't be able to get a new dog for several years, I think I may be able to at least play in agility with either Darby, who is 8, or Lexi, who is 10. Now, technically they are both 'seniors' but they are both very resiliant, peppy, know basic obedience...

These are a true representation (or true as I can get) of his coloring right now...you can already see the lavender purplish cast to his scales in a couple. He is a lovely pastel palette right now...I think...
