My Dog gets snarly when I'm nearby
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Question: How would you guys handle this? A dog who is very good with other dogs in general, but gets snarly when she's with other dogs in the presence of her owner? If it were my dog, I'd move away from her as it seems like resource guarding- I don't want her to guard me, so I withdraw...

Posted to:

for those of you (like me) that feed your dog benedryl I bought 400 caplets for $3.50 or something like that at Costco. Used to think that the 100 for about the same at Walmart was a steal!

Qualities of a labrador? Their characteristics and what are they used for? What's the difference between a black, yellow, golden, chocolotae, silver and golden labs? Are they extremely good with children and family? Are they too playful and very fun oriented? What else?

HELP - Bacteria/Yeast Infection/UTI - how & why???
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I know that sounds like a rather stupid question, but I just need to know what's going on - maybe then I'll know how to prevent it. Lola has had two UTI's since we adopted her on August 1st. The first one she had when we got her; the second one was about 6 weeks ago (had a blood clot in...

I am prefacing this by saying that if you own a bully breed you probably do not want to read this because it will ruin your day. I am posting so people can write in and let the proper people know that their study is obviously flawed and insulting to many responsible dog owners everywhere, [link http...

To crate or not to crate?

Hello! I have a 9 month old mixed puppy who is pretty close to being completely house trained. we had a few accidents(my own fault) the first and 2nd night but we've done really well the last couple of days. She's been out and running free during the night and hasn't had peed or pooped anywhere...

I was walking yesterday with my Fi and the dogs. We walked past a soccer field, where a bunch of young adults were playing soccer. One of the boys, as we walked past screamed..."A Pit Bull!" and ran. I was shocked. Number one, thats how people get bitten by dogs... when they flail, scream and...

Jealous/overprotective pom.

Hey, I posted about the 2 year old pomeranian I adopted about a week and a half ago from the shelter. After numerous vet trips and medications for his upper respiratory infection, he seems to be getting better. Well, last night a new problem seemed too appear. It seemed that any time my fiancee came...

Progress report and a brag

Gaia is still leash reactive. But with the work we've been doing she's getting better, reacting a little less aggressively and at a closer distance. My situation is such that I live in a heavily dog populated and people populated area. When I take walks I can see anywhere between 4 and 20...

Questions on Protein
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I've read that puppies need a food with approx 26-28pct protein. I am very confused about a few things regarding this. First, when is your puppy not considered a puppy anymore or when should i feed adult food? Also, if a pup requires that much protein why is NB and others considered all life stages...
