My Dog gets snarly when I'm nearby

    Question:

How would you guys handle this? A dog who is very good with other dogs in general, but gets snarly when she's with other dogs in the presence of her owner?

If it were my dog, I'd move away from her as it seems like resource guarding- I don't want her to guard me, so I withdraw all attention from her when she does that?  AND, I'd jolly her up and give her some super special treats when she's being good in the presence of other dogs and me.

The dog's owner wants to scold and muzzle her. I want to say "don't do it!" but could use some other ideas, too.

    Thanks!

I would give my dog the "ahh ahhh" and then redirect them. Put them to work asking for behavior I can reward. Sit, high five, spin...things I know they can do. I would not ignore them snarking at another dog..but thats me and my own dogs that I know. Give mine an inch and they would run a mile.

what kind of dog is it? male female? altered? How old? Is she actually biting? Why the muzzle?

It sounds like your suggestion is better than the owner's.  This is a dog that needs some training.
