Pork brains!
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I found frozen pork brains in a little tub at a local grocery store. I know that brain is a superior source of DHA, and I really want to give them to my dogs. I'm a little iffy, though, because brain is not something people talk about feeding. I've never fed brain, outside of the head (yeah,...

House training abused JackRussel
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hey All! My friends recently rescued an abused/neglected Jack Russle about 4 years old. He was an outside dog. They are trying to make him an inside dog, but he keeps peeing on the carpet. From what I understand he goes outside to play and go potty quite often as she doesn't work, she walks him several...

Frustrated with HYPER AND DESTRUCTIVE dog
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I have a 5 month old black lab male. He is very cute and loving but very hyper and destructive . We have been having to crate him since he was about 3 months old (when we got him) because he still has not gotten the where to go to the bathroom routine down yet. He also eats the cat food and digs out...

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I hope you can help me with a quandary. Sorry for this to be a long post! I need some expert advice though! Because my husband and I both work, my dog is set up in our (warm) garage with his bed, water, toys, etc. We leave the side door slightly ajar so that...

I think our 3 month old great dane thinks it is OK to pee in his crate.....never poops in his crate and doesn't pee in the house any where. As a matter of fact if we are playing with him and he has to go he will run to the door so he "get it"....However at night in his crate he use to cry...

Of dogs and bikes...

What are those contraptions called that hook your dog up to your bike, along the back, so they can run with you? I know I read a thread about it before, but I can't find it.

Keeping Dogs Fresh
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
How do you keep your dogs fresh in between baths? The way my pups get dirty, I want to wash them everyday like I do myself, but I know that I can't do that. I try to wipe their feet and whatever other dirty spots, but it never lasts. What's your secret?

Vacuum help

Can anyone recommend a good vacuum cleaner? I vacuumed my living room on Saturday and just happened to notice that it didn't pick up any dog hair. NONE. I certainly can't afford a Dyson, that's for sure. We may have discussed this before but I was just wondering what you guys use...Aside...

I've posted this question else on this site but hoping to get more replies by posting it more than once. I'm fixing to place an order for an exercise pen for my toy poodle and i also noticed on Petco, that they have dog car seats. I got a couple of reviews on their website about how good they...

Sharing a crate
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Our dogs each have a small crate to retreat to in their pen in the kitchen. Winnie hardly ever, if ever, uses it. She pulls the blanket out and sleeps on the floor. Petey uses his pretty often. But, with it getting much colder around here, I noticed that they've both been in one crate when I go...

tonight i started playing around with a casual "heel" command with Arlo (about 12 weeks) and wanted to add Walter (3 year old lab). but two dogs heeling along my left leg felt clumsy, while having a dog on either side feel more natural. i think in the long run haiving both dogs on my left...

Martingale collar with a chain - legal?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I'm going to begin to trial Trudy in novice obedience UKC. Can I use a leather martingale collar with a a chain? She's been training on a pinch and I think that a martingale with a chain would be the best next step for novice.
