Posted to:

I was at the pet store today and lady had a little pup in her arms, I said that is a Yorkie right? She said, no he is a Morkie, half Maltese and have Yorkie. Well, anyway he was a little dear. I said then my dog must be a Pekitese as she is half Maltese and half Pekinese. [ ]

Dog eating dandelions and wishy's
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hi: My dog keeps eating the yellow dandelions and the white little wishy weeds. Could he be lacking something? He's not getting sick on them and just keeps eating the tops. Any help would be appreciated.

Bulldog and Shih Tzu
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I have a 3 year old female shih tzu now, and would love to get a Olde English Bulldogge, or something similar. I'd prefer a female OEB because of their size. Any thoughts on how the two would get along? I've heard big dogs and little dogs, as well as two female dogs, won't get along very...

EVO with brown rice
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Good Afternoon, I was hoping you folks might want to offer your personal opinions on what I am feeding my dogs. They were both switched to Innova EVO (one from Purina ProPlan, the other from Wellness whitefish & potato) 2 weeks ago. When they were entirely on EVO their energy level seemed to slow...

Is This Wrong?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
To stop Zoe's constant barking, I punched a hole in a water bottle lid and then filled the bottle with water so we could squirt her when she barked. It worked, she barks once now and then stops. So I decided to use the water bottle when we go for walks. If she got ahead of me, I would squirt across...

Protective issues
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I think I may have a solution but wanted to get the opinions of some I-doggers... Whenever someone comes over to our house that Prince doesn't know, he goes into vicious guard dog mode. Now I know he is a Doberman and they are protective to begin with but lately it keeps getting worse and worse...

thoughts on dog walkers -- Im in NY but will appreciate any input
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I live in New York City and am contemplating a dog walker (along with contemplating adoptin a boston terrier pup, which is where the thought of a dog walker comes from). I plan on crating the pup (if I do indeed adopt the dog). I understand that puppies can only go about four hours in the crate. I am...

Learning about behaviors

Training & Behavior
To those of you out there who are "animal behaviorists", I am wondering what the certifications are. What are the credentials? Where do you get your training? I am not asking this tongue in cheek or sarcastically, I am genuinely interested. Is it like becoming a vet where you have to go to...

Question about testing for genetic defects
Posted to:

Actually this question is late, but I would like to know how much this will cost and if it will tell me about future problems with my dogs. I have posted in reply to some other posts and some of you know the story about our dogs and I also posted in the health section the other day when we found out...

Dry nose.
Posted to:

[8|] I have a lovely six year old Cocker Spaniel with a dry nose. Vet has diagnosed as chronic rhinitis and I have tried every antibiotic, steriod and mouth wash she has suggested. Each new drug brings minimal improvement and then right back to square 1 as soon as the course of tablets ends. Symptoms...
