    Bulldog and Shih Tzu

I have a 3 year old female shih tzu now, and would love to get a Olde English Bulldogge, or something similar. I'd prefer a female OEB because of their size. Any thoughts on how the two would get along? I've heard big dogs and little dogs, as well as two female dogs, won't get along very well.

well I have a Chow Chow and a Yorkie who get along fine.  Previously I had the Chow, Yorkie and a Basset as well (big basset, she was close to 70 lbs) and all coexisted peacefully

    Are chows typically dog-aggressive?

I own two Olde English Bulldogges and I also own 'smaller breeds' they get along great together, its all in the rearing of these dogs as puppies.
Olde English are a great asset to any family, so I would say go for it [:D]

    I say ditto to Nix...
My OEB and Mini Schnauzer are best friends, they even share a crate, the bulldogge came along second of the two, so she grew up being with smaller dogs.  Both are females.

I have 2 female Shih Tzu's and they've gotten along with every dog they have met, male or female.

    That's all great to hear!!

Nixx and whatsonemore, what are your OEBs temperments like? Are they laid back or active? And how much do they weigh?
    • Gold Top Dog
My OEBs weights are between 55-60 lbs, and they are both between 15-17 " at the shoulder.

They both have great temperments, one is very driven and out going; more athletic, and the other is more mellow with great focus when it comes to training and folowing commands.  Neither are lacking in energy, and could go and go all day.

My Olde English have very nice even temperaments, great with all other animals & fantastic with kids.

My boy stands at 23" from the shoulder and wieghs well over 100Lbs, my girl stands at 21" from the shoulder and wieghs in at just under the 100Lbs mark.  Both are very active and energetic, but they also like the easy life!  So I get the best of both worlds with them [:D]

I live in the Uk so they are quite a different dog than you may have in the USA but are still bred with the same purpose in mind.  I think there are photos of my two in the photo section [:D]
