Dog whimpering after eye removal
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My 13 year old silky terrier, Katie, had to have her right eye removed yesterday due to many glaucoma and cataract issues with that eye over the past four years. The surgery went well, and she came through with flying colors. They kept her overnight for observation and I picked her up and brought...

How Responsive/Observant Is Your Dog?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I think Bear is quite bright, he gets excited when I put my scrunchie in my hair, or pull a sweater over my head - cause he knows that usually means we are going for a walk. And he talks to me. I ask him if he wants to go outside and he'll jump up and lick my chin, make growly noises and prance...

My poor puppy!

I took Buster to my mom's house for a while while I went to the cemetery with my sister today, he always loves to visit grandma. My mom and my other sister were spending the day outside so I thought he would like to visit while I was out. Everything was fine until she decided to put him into the...

Food allergy signs
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hello: Hope everyone is well and your doggies are well too. I was wondering what some symptoms of a food allergy can be for dogs? I put Peanut and Gabby on a food called Canine Caviar. Chicken and Millet formula. Peanut's ears are getting red inside after he eats and he's licking his private...

Cory and his skin.
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Hi guys. This is my first post here, but I've lurked for awhile. My problem is as follows: I have a wonderful 4 yr old pit mix named Cory. I've owned him for the full four years. The first few months were fine. Ever since then, we have been battling severe skin allergies with him. He has seen...

Nutrition & Exercise
My mom has 2 bichons who she loves more than anything in the world. They were pet store bought because she didn't know better at the time and the oldest, Snuggles, is now 11 and Lucy is 9. They currently eat Kirland lamb & rice plus some sort of fish canned food. While adoring these dogs more...

Swollen Face - Please Advise!
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I have a 7 month old Golden Retriever. She is mostly an outside dog. When we brought her in to go to bed, her face was all swollen. It seems to be more the right side. She is acting normal, jumping, wanting to play, etc. I have read about others recommending Benadryl. But how much would you give? Any...

NB Duck and Pot- Causing tearstains??
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I have heard that food could be the culprit of tear stains. Could NB D& have anything that could cause this? He didn't have them on Canidae, but he didn't like it much either. Which food from Solid Gold would be good to try? Tried Innova and he threw up too often.

Is my liver treats causing the "poo-poo's"?

Hi, I am the loving owner of a 10 week old Lab/Coonhound. He has had the poops for the last week, and we think it is because of some liver treats we recently got for training. They are Authority brand Liver treats. They are about 3/4 of an inch around and are soft. We get about 5 commands out of each...

careers/jobs - is yours dog-related?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Just wondering how many people out there make a living doing something dog-related or working for a dog-related company? If so what do you do? I work at a specialty dog store, making natural dog biscuits. The store also sells high-quality foods and accessories, and we have a hiking program.
