Since I was 12 I've always wanted to be a jockey. I have always loved horses though for as long as I can remember. Today I found out that I can actually go to school to become a jockey. And the school is only only like an hour and a half away!! So in 2 years I will be trying to attend this school...

building a new dog run - any advice?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I"ve been planning on building a new dog run, right now the dogs hang out in the front yard, but i want to make them a run for numerous reasons: a non-grassy non FOXTAIL area, to keep the dogs cleaner ( pea gravel) and to keep them safer ( in the back yard & not in the front). I have lots of...

Spaying - Laser
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I had Bonnie spayed yesterday morning, I opted for doing it with Laser, no stiches or anything, she is doing well. Sleeping a lot and not moving around much. She ate a good breakfast and took her pain meds and has been sleeping every since. So glad that is over for her. Laser cost more but it was sure...

How do you punish your dog?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
It gets so frusturating sometimes when I tell CoCo to do something, and I can just tell that in her head, she's giving me the doggy version of the finger and ignoring me. ie. Today after our walk, I decided to take her into the fenced in field behind my house, and took off her leash. Then on the...

Dog Friendly Countries

I was in Germany last week and really noticed how dog friendly they are there. People take their dogs everywhere. They were in the tourist areas, city center, subways, stores and restaurants. I saw so many people walking their dogs. Every dog I seen had impeccable leash manners. Maybe because they are...

Delayed closure or hernia?

Can you guys tell me your experiences? I've been trying to research it a little, and it seems like I get conflicting information. Could someone tell me how you can (if you can) tell the difference just by looking? And are they treated differently?

Credit Cards... (alieliza)

I am going on a month long trip to Asia this summer, and plan to use a combination of local currency and credit cards. My plan was to pay off all my credit cards before going so that I would have the entire limit to spend on all of them (in case of emergency, of course :D ). Well, I did that, but have...

Culling, does it mean death for innocent pups?
Posted to:

In another thread,"Elitist" thread the situation of culling was brought up....there is evidence that this type of cleansing of the gene pool includes killing of innocent pups that don't measure up, so to speak......it happens all over the world, even in good ole England http://www.dogmagazine...
