House season finale
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Anyone else watch it? I watched, but also recorded it as I was playing with the dogs while it was on and hate missing any detail. I thought it was pretty good - I love the complexity of relationships and House himself.

Dunkin Donuts vs. Starbucks vs...Other?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I'm defintiely a Dunkin Donuts gal myself. In fact when they are nearly right next to each other (or across the street) I will purposely go into DD. Aside from the huge difference in price, DD just tastes a world better to me. And I kind of feel like there is a different attitude all together when...

Collar For Dog With "Hack"?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
We have a 7y.o. mutt who has recently developed a bit of a "hack" when pressure is applied to his throat ... I first noticed this a few weeks ago while he was blowing his coat & I was using a stripper comb on him. When I ran the comb over his neck area, he began to hack. He seemed fine...

Some people have been asking lately where the new pictures of Tyson are, so I figured I'd share some. I got a new camera, and thats always a good reason to shoot! (I bought a digital point and shoot for my upcoming trip this summer... its no DSLR, but it'll do the job! :) ) Gracie still has...

Neiko and I did our first disc dog competition this weekend. I thought I'd share for those interested. There were 68 competitors, the most ever they said...some even came up from OH to compete. It was very cool and we had perfect weather (70 and sunshine all day with just enough wind to float...

Manners Classes for Humans?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I remember as a young girl my mother really getting after me to be nice to elders. Perhaps it's just cultural, but I don't think so - I really think many mothers of the day were trying to impress that on their kids. So, I'm thinking, yesterday, as the third door slammed in my face, why is...

Watch your dogs!!!!

People around here really should watch their dogs a bit better. There's always a dog on the loose, and you know me, always trying to catch them and get them safely home. Today, an english setter was running around my backyard chasing birds this morning. I let my dogs on the deck and they start barking...

NDR - Baby Birds on Our Porch Video
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
We have a matchstick blind on our front porch and this Spring, a bird built a nest in there. Sadly, one of the babies got out and my husband found it on the porch. But we recently learned that 3 others survived, because we could see the mom feeding them through the blind and we could hear their racket...

Reaction to puppy question

Training & Behavior
I want to describe something that happened a week ago and I'm not sure what to make of it. To preface this, I should say that Kenya has been as a whole very good with other dogs. Now I've had her less than a year, but I've never seen her growl, lunge, or bark at another dog in an aggressive...
