I think Black & Tan Coonhound
This is my sweetheart. She's just a little over a year old now. Got her from the Humane Society, and she ended up being diagnosed with distemper. Humane society said it was an "untreatable disease" and wouldn't help with any of the bills and just wanted to put her down. Several paychecks...

Australian kelpies
Someone asked me way back about Jill because she's part kelpie and they were interested in the breed. So I thought I'd start a thread about kelpies for them. What I know about kelpies is that they're a hard dog to keep happy. They're complete workaholics and they really want to be...

Any ideas what he is?
Hi, I'm looking for help identifying the breed(s) of my dog. I adopted him 3 months ago and they said he was a Weimaraner mix - I don't see it at all. He's 2 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. He's fairly tall - I can scratch him w/o bending over and I'm 5'6. (that's my...

Just for fun: Bloodhound + ?
Just because I personally find breed guessing games kind of fun, I thought I'd get some opinions on Conrad. I'm certain that he's at least half bloodhound. The other part is a bit more of a mystery. His natural drives are all bloodhound, so I can't go on those (he's nose-oriented...

What's in the mix?
Hello! Some of you may already know us, but I see a lot of new faces here, so I thought I'd get some fresh opinions on my boy, Jack. The rescue said he's a border collie/lab mix. I've heard some other ideas, though. He's almost 2 years old, a lean 50 lbs, about 23-24 inches tall...

Looking for the best breed for our needs
Currently we have 2 cats and a Bichon (male, just over one year old). We've narrowed down what seem like the best breeds for us to just a few: Keeshond Finnish Spitz Norwegian Buhund (we've read they may not be good with cats so this one may not be an option) Obviously breeds known...

Deciding on the breed
I see everyone has every breed in the book. I want to know what breed would be good with adults that are mental retarded & has autism. We need a dog that is very laid back & will tolerate the stepping on paws, hair pulling etc etc Or ones face in the dog's face, hugging. That sort of things...

*UPDATE*Gotta guess what mix this puppy is... *UPDATE*
Sorry for the cruddy pictures- camera phone. We went to the humane society and this little girl caught our eye- surrounded by huge GS and boxer puppies. The tag said "Spaniel Mix?" She's small for a two month puppy.. brown fur with waves of red (gorgeous) with speckled toes (white with...

Okay, take your best guess...
Here's a picture of my dog. I'm curious what breeds everyone might see in her. I'm pretty sure she at least has German Shephard, but other than that I'm stumped. She may just be a combination of things, who knows.[ ] She's about 56 lbs, give or take a couple, and has blue spots on...

What do you think we're dealing with here?
Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and this is a picture of my foster dog, Mason. He is quite a bundle of energy! I've had him in my home (only limited access on leash or in a crate though) since August. He took to the crate like water and we've learned "sit", "down", "wait"...

Identify my pound puppy, please
I have an adorable little puppy that my family adopted from the local animal shelter. I named him Apollo. He is 9.4 pounds, between 3-4 months old and has lots of energy. He loves being outside. His tail curves up over his back. His fur is soft but wirey and short. He has webbed feet. Hope the description...
