*UPDATE*Gotta guess what mix this puppy is... *UPDATE*

Sorry for the cruddy pictures- camera phone. We went to the humane society and this little girl caught our eye- surrounded by huge GS and boxer puppies.

The tag said "Spaniel Mix?" She's small for a two month puppy.. brown fur with waves of red (gorgeous) with speckled toes (white with black spots).

We kind of need to know so we can estimate how big she might get (we can't have a BIG dog.. around 40 pounds is maximum.....) She had kind of a big belly, hehe.

    Edit:
Sasha is almost 5 months old now, here are some updated pictures

Sasha is turning out really well - no accidents for over a month. I can leave her in our room for hours at a time and come back with everything intact and her fast asleep. Any more guesses as to which breeds she is?

Aussie or Border collie for sure, and something like a spaniel/retriever, or hound or setter (I'd have to see the tail and how the body looks when mature). The Aussie or Border collie part is half, and the other half is probably a heinz 57, possibly even with Bc or Aussie mixed in again, so you are pretty sure to get around that 40 pound range. Especially with her being female. The reason I say that is she has two recessive characteristics - red (liver) and rough coat.

She is cute as can be! good luck with her!

Ooh, sounds like she'll be a smart dog. I definitely think you're right. I can see the border collie on her chest area.. it was the big floppy ears and narrow face that confused me. Here's a really bad picture of her tail- I didn't upload it since it was so blurry (at the last minute she decided to chase something). Hopefully it'll help a bit.

My guess would be Aussie x heinz 57- maybe some springer, maybe some shepherd, maybe some more Aussie. I think 40-50 pounds is probably a safe guess (depends on how serious that 40 pound mark is- I don't think she's going to be giant or LOOK much bigger than that). Very cute face, though!

She reminds me of LisaK's Kodi when he was a pup.  Lisa was told he was an Aussie/Golden mix.  Boy, is she a cutie!

What a sweetie pie! I'm going with Aussie/spaniel. Could be border collie, too, though. She's going to be adorable, no matter what, and I think right in the weight range you're looking for.

The big ears probably has a lot to do with her age, they'll be more in proportion as she gets older. She is adorable!

    Thanks everyone for replying!

I'm bringing her home tomorrow (gotta puppy proof everything- she's being spayed tonight). Had her meet my other dog (an eight year old yorkshire/bichon) who would growl to let the know the puppy who was boss everytime she ran by.

She's really interested in trash bins- like she'd try and stand up and look into 'em but is too small, hehe.

I mentioned all the ideas everyone here said about her breed, and everyone there agreed.. definately either a border collie or aussie shep somewhere.. but basically just a heinz 57. Five other people tried to adopt her, but she was reserved, muahahaha!

Thanks again for the help :D

Here are more pictures- they are big but the file size is small. Hopefully this helps, or solidifies the border collie idea. You can't really tell in the pictures- but at the tips of her ears, the fur starts curling, like a spaniels maybe?

This is just a close up of the pretty colors on her head. I like 'em a lot.

She's learning things quickly, but has a very short attention span. She learned sit after two or three times telling her- but she won't do it unless she's REALLY looking at you and nothing else. I can't get far enough to go sit- lay down, since by that time something else is more interesting. She adapted to the crate instantly- at the end of the day she just crawled in it by herself and fell asleep. Woke up this morning and she was smiling at me, no whines or barks. So, I'm thinkin' she's a breed that's a quick learner (BC for example).

Yesterday she was peeing inside constantly- today, she went to the door right when I let her out of her crate and wagged her tail. She goes quickly now outside, and seems to have adapted to the snow. No accidents since then. Amazing @_@

What a doll! Still looks border collie to me, right down to the teeny tiny white tip on her tail. But there's something else in there, too. It'll be easier to tell when she's older, but I'm still thinking some type of spaniel.

Heh. She's been trying to herd my white bichon/yorkshire lately.. maybe my white dog looks like a sheep to her. I think that pretty much solidifies the BC, hehe.

So now it's just guessing the rest of her- hopefully it's not a lab (which people think because of her ears) since labs get biiiig. She's gonna have enough energy it is with her BC- add a lab to it and I think I'll die @_@

Oh what a cutie! Maybe she is a mix with a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (I saw her retriever kind of look and Aussie look and thought that). Whatever she is, she is sure cute!

Oh wow! I think you may be right!

That's her face! Well, she has a bit of a narrower muzzle, but her eyes and ears look like that in that expression. She also had the same markings as a NSDTR- white tip on her tail, toes, and chest. The top of her head seems like that color red/brown, too. The only thing is the white parts on her toes have black spots... so I'm thinking it might be Aussie.. but my friends got a full aussie shep, and they're the same age, and he's 20 lbs while she is only 8 lbs @_@ The NSDTR is also about the same height as a border collie and/or aussie shep, so shouldn't she be some what the same size?
