still peeing in the house
Hi there. I'm sure you all remember the female puppy that we have that is humping. Well I had a question about house training. She goes outside to use the bathroom. She even goes to the door and lets us know most of the time. Then some times she won't do anything. She just runs off into the dining...

Biting at ankles
Hello everyone! This is my first post and I'm sorry I don't have a picture but they aren't on my computer yet. I have an Airedale Terrier puppy that is 15 weeks old today. I've always wanted an Airedale and I finally have one. I'm not so sure I was as prepared as I thought though...

What a whiner!
Hi everyone, Just brought my GSMD puppy home last night. She's gorgeous and very playful. One problem I'm starting to notice, though, is she's constantly whining. I didn't think much of it at the breeder yesterday, but after I got home I thought back to my last dog and how he never...

the strange tale of Blackie
All his life, Blackie has been a wanderer. I even gave him Colombus Day as a birthday. (I found him on the street) Recently Blackie started being terrified of going outside and I mean recently like in the last 2 weeks. instead of wandering around and exploring, he stands next to me, trembling! What...

help - he is 7 months old and aggressive?
My pomeranian is a shy dog and does not socialize with dogs at all. So, this weekend I thought it would be a good idea to take him to my friends house where he has a small dog that is faily calm and old. The second my pup came out of the car, he started barking and growling like crazy at that dog. I...

Herding the screen door?
Is this Another herding behavior? Whenever we are visiting at my moms house and anyone opens the screen door, Lizzie will bark like a maniac and try to close the screen door with her paws (kind of like a digging motion) It doesnt bother us but why the heck does she do this?

Help - Apartment to New House!
Our dog is two years old and has lived in an apartment that entire time. While living there, we took her out on a leash for all "bathroom breaks." We recently moved into a house where she can go out into the backyard if she's tied up to a lead. As of right now, she just stays on the deck...

Few More Questions
I have a few more questions. I know everyone probably expects it though because I'm new to the board. 1. My girlfriend has a chihuahua that's about 2+ years old and brodie has met him and is always up for playing with him but her dog doesn't like it and is very much a resource gaurder...

bad dog when previous owners visit

New puppy on the way!
Hi everyone, first time post here. I've been on a waiting list for a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and just spoke with the breeder this evening. She informed me that my puppy will be ready to be taken home tomorrow! This is a tad bit sooner than I expected, and I probably don't know as much as...

missing the pee pad
My dog is potty trained. He knows where to go, but sometimes, he starts sniffing the pad a little and misses by going on the edge of the pee pad.

prong?
I have a 6 month old puppy who absolutely will not behave on a leash. He pulls really hard and it's a bit obnoxious. I was just wondering if he was too young for a prong collar...I usually walk him and my GSD at the same time, so i will have the GSD in one hand with his gentle leader harness, and...

2 puppies sharing a crate
Does anyone know if you can crate train two puppies in one crate? I think not because later then the puppies get bigger, one will have to move to a new crate. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Aggresive behaviour at dog park
I've taken Boomer to the dog park a few times now. Lately he's gotten a bit aggresive with some dog that clearly just want to play with him. Seems like he gets testy with the bigger dogs (he's about 35lbs). How can i deter this type of behaviour.?

Flying with a Pup
I'm not sure if this goes here, so if it doesn't....I apologize and please feel free to move it! I am going on a flight with my 4 mo old lab in a few days and I am looking for a little advice about flying. I am of course checking her since she's 33lbs. (I am terrified of this, by the way...
