Training Question
I'm working towards teaching Sandy Rally O. So far she's doing pretty good. BUT I can't lure or treat her without her jumping up to snatch the treat. I don't give it to her but it's kinda difficult to lure a dog that doesn't even come up to my knees. Lol. Any suggestions to make...

Dog on Cali Natural w/ bad poops and gas
Hello, HISTORY: When I first got my puppy, he had very weepy eyes and did quite a bit of scratching. Could have been the long winter or beginnings of allergies. I searched for a food that had few ingredients because if it was allergies forming, I didn't want to help them along. I decided on California...

Junior Handlers...
Jr Handlers are a wonderful asset for any show kennel, they have a lot of energy, they obviously love dogs and when teaching and watching them you improve your own skills by leaps and bounds. So I thought since I have already promised another post about indoor showing with photos from the big Jackson...

Switch to WET. Good idea?
After 3+ months on Prednisone, Kobi has developed an incredible thirst and an increased appetite. I am trying get weight off to relieve the stress on his 'good' leg. I am wondering about switching him to a wet (canned) dog food. I would imagine that it could help alleviate some of his thirst...

All Natural Diet...help please!!
Hello, I haven't posted in a long time. But my vet suggested a all natural diet for our dogs. TBone (7yr old black lab/hound mix) has always had a problem with having dirty ears. The vet said if ear ointment doesn't keep it clear to try an all natural diet. He said cut the can food out and try...

Pre novice
It says it's all done on leash, but I've never done pre novice (Emma is *worse* on a leash than off, by a long shot, for her stands). Ena Bean would benefit from doing the novice exersizes on leash. There is a show coming up, and I want to enter her. How are the long sits and downs performed...

Soy-Free Vitamin E?
Has anyone found a good source of Vitamin E that doesn't have soy? Pirate's home-cooked food needs me to supplement both D and E - except every liquid Vitamin E I can find has stupid soy! He can't have the soy because it makes his seizure-y-ness much more noticeable.

The different types of Sit
Sandy heels beautifully on both my left and right side. BUT! When I slow down to a stop, she swings out and either does a front finish or sits on an angle. I can lure her in to the sit but she still sits on the angle.. It's like there's a magnet in her butt that's reacting badly with...

Ag training session 5/23/09
It looks like my Chloe is back! Her speed caught me off guard. She has been off for 4 months because of an injury. While she comes back, Scout's drive and motivation deteriorating so I am going to have to back up a step or two. He seems lost. He usually runs and drives hard through the weave poles...

Brookcove...if I want to cook a whole chicken
for Dakota and have the bones be part of the diet, I need to stew the bird for at least 24hrs?? Do the cooked bones supply the calcium to offset the phosphorus in the meat, like it does with RMB's? I'm done with deboning....I refuse to go back to it! Obviously I need the bones to be safe...

Emma... is.... fat?
It sneaked up on me, honestly.... I touched her, today, and didn't feel a rib. Huh? I pressed. Whoops. She's got a little bit of padding, over her ribs. Wow, that has *never* been an issue before! So.... she's eating Hills Z/D, which is 14% protien, and 10% fat. She has an appointment for...

Useless American dogs ;-)
Justin, the "useless American dog", went from the show ring to sheep yesterday, and he had an absolute BLAST! The instinct tester loved him and said she'd be proud to have him on sheep. She wasn't as sure about my German boy, who was extremely pushy. Justin: http://www...

Pom has the runs...bad!...
