I don't know much detail.  But, I did try it back in the day.  And, Willow would not touch her food with it on it.  It gives it a really funky look and she didn't like it.  I'm not sure if it's still the same now though.

I fed it to Luke for a little over a year or so because my agility instructor recommended it so highly.  He ate it happily and definitely had a lovely coat, but I can't say that I've noticed any negative effects since taking him off it.  FYI, I took him off it when he started itching badly because I couldn't figure out what he was reacting to.  I switched his foods (away from Innova Evo) and took him off the Seameal at the same time and haven't tried going back to either.

One thing I *might* give the Seameal is that *maybe* he shed less while he was on it.  That's a hard one to measure, though.

Willowchow, I'm not sure what "look" you are referring to.  Seameal is a powder-based supplement that you mix with a bit of water to make a "gravy".  I put water over Luke's food at every meal (it slows him down), so in his mind the Seameal was great because it added a bit more flavor to the liquid.

I too tried it back around 96-99 or so on and off, my big girl that I had at the time would throw up whenever I fed it. Gave up with it and have never tried it since.

Okay, after reading these posts, I will definitely NOT be getting the supplement. Thanks for your help! :)

She knew it was there, it's not a clear powder, at least it wasn't.  And, she didn't like the consistency I guess.

I tried it years ago and Legend wouldn't eat with it on the food either and my food hound Basset was somewhat picky with it on. I never finished the container

When I tried it, years ago, it was kind of a flaky stuff which I assumed was the seaweed in it. Seaweed is high in Omega-3s, but it's also high in iodine, so I prefer to add fish oil to my dogs' diets. Possibly the omega-3s is the reason they recommended it - it's almost impossible for any commercial food to deliver intact omega-3s because they are so unstable.

    That's it! It was iodine.

I have used Seameal in the past with no problem. Last Friday I bought some to put in Myrt and Frosty's cooked chicken.Frosty would not eat the chicken, just kinda licked it and looked at me with a what the heck did you do to my chicken?

I should have been using the Showstopper supplement that I forgot I had.Myrt and Frosty like it and it is 17 supplements in one.

I found it at Petco and I also found  a website that has it and some other supplements I want to try.
