One dog 2 many
Homemade or Kibble?
I have made some major changes to the way I feed my dogs lately, and would love some feedback. We have had a couple of really lean years, and the dogs definitely were not on the best kibble (we weren't eating the best quality food either ). I have definitely noticed some effects of this diet ...

So many dog food brands... suggestions (aDork)
So part of the thing with me finally getting Misha back, and living with him full time again, is that I think he needs his food changed. I'm posting because many of the foods that are frequently suggested he is on and I am not sure they are working out the best for him. Current Food(s): TOTW High...

Does my westie puppy have food allergies?
When we first received our 3 month old westie puppy he was sick from day one. The breeder was feeding him Eukunba puppy. After many trips to the vet and a overnight hospital stay for him he was diagnosed with Coccidia. He was given AB and put on Royal Canin gastro food for 2 weeks. He did fine in those...

Dog Sports?
Hm so recently, I've been thinking maybe Simba would be pretty good at flyball as well as agility. Though I don't know if I would have enough money for both classes. For anyone who has done both, or one or the other can you guys give me advantages and disadvantages to both? I know Simba is still...

Echo plateau help
Echo turned 7 months yesterday and had another obedience class yesterday. It was as if she had forgotten everything she had learned. She won't sit, she 'sharks' for her hand touches. She stares at me like "Huh?" or probably more like "nah, don't wanna." Is this...

Okay guys... honest opinons needed.
Hubby has declared he has been woken up for the last time by Greta's gassiness...... change her food to whatever it takes to end the gas, no matter what the cost. (Which translates into something reasonable, we can't afford $50 for a 20 pound bag of food, that may be reasonable to some, but not...

Well this should be interesting...
we have another Rally trial on Sunday at Top Dog (the Doberman Pinscher club is renting the site). I just saw the judging schedule on line- Novice doesn't start until 6:45. Of course, Novice A (our class) is last. And with my luck we'll be one of the last to go. LOL

We're loving The Honest Kitchen!
Last week, I bought a 3 pound box of the Preference premix from The Honest Kitchen. Wendy, at 50 pounds, is just too big to do all home cooked for. We're THRILLED! The dogs love it, I love it -- super, super easy. So, I ordered a 7 pound box from k9cuisine.com! It was 'on sale' ($61.99) and...

Heads up Natural Balance users...
When I picked up food & treats earlier (NB Duck & Potato), I noticed the treat bags were different. The girl at the store said NB is changing all their packaging. Actually, I like the new packaging. My concern is that new packaging normally means a change to the ingredient list some how. Sure...

Puppy and Raw
This came up in a conversation last night with my training partner. I'm trying to decide if I want to start my pup on a raw diet right from the start or if I want to feed kibble for the first year. My partner thinks I should feed raw from the beginning. My worry is messing up his growth. I know that...

Vegetarian Recipes?
So I started my vegetarian quest today and now I'm looking for some good recipes. Any ideas or tips? I'm eventually going to slip to Vegan for a small while but not for a couple weeks. I've only been at it now for the morning and finding things hard. How do you do it? Thanks. Johnny...

I'm so proud...
Tyson will be 4 months old tomorrow and since he got his last set of vacs a couple of weeks ago I've been taking him everywhere I can with me...we've made a few trips to the state park and his leash manners have basically been crap. He does great in the yard and familiar places, but pulls like...

Dog Food Suggestions
Hey guys! So tomorrow I'm going to the vets with my mom when she boarders Simba and I wanted to bring up wanting to change Simba's food. So what are some foods you'd suggest me switching Simba to? Some info on him: Boxer/APBT mix(as if you didn't know :P ) about 46 pounds, 7 months old...

Agility Practice Photos
Since Gaci is off all sports until further notice (BOO.....nobody is happy about that!), I've taken the time to really focus on Shimmer and get her trial-ready. She's surprised me by how well she's doing, so we're moving on to teach the weaves and teeter while we brush up everything else...

Agility graduation (vid, pics, etc)
Last night Nikon "graduated" from Beginner Agility. Even though I like to spend a lot of time on each obstacle (various entries, driving away, etc) people who aren't really serious about agility want to run courses so the graduation day always has a simple course. Last night it was 8 obstacles...

Talk about sheep herding...
I think this is a super sport/work. Herding dogs are all around the world, mostly they work with sheep but some of them with cattle, goat ...etc Shepherd breeds had become the most intelligent breeds of the dogs. They are multifunctional, had a strong contact with they owner and for centuries shepherds...

teeth cleaning
I just had my dog's teeth cleaned at the vet. He recommened a drinking water additive to fight plaque buildup. I add a teaspoon to the water bowl each day. Has anyone had any luck with this type of product?
