    Echo plateau help

Echo turned 7 months yesterday and had another obedience class yesterday.

It was as if she had forgotten everything she had learned.  She won't sit, she 'sharks' for her hand touches.  She stares at me like "Huh?" or probably more like "nah, don't wanna."

Is this normal? HELP!    She was just completely off in lala land yesterday and today while trying to practice with her, both my hands are scratched up from her sharking me on the hand touches.

It is soooooo normal - she's officially an adolescent.  This is the stage when dog owners tear their hair out because teenage idiocy has taken over their dogs' brains.  This, too, shall pass, and I commend you for doing class at this stage.  It's exactly the right timing;-)

Ok, thanks!  I will just continue trying to do our best then until it passes.  I am really enjoying her despite her quirks LOL.  SHe is such a goofball.

I tell all of my students that the aliens abduct dog brains between 7 and 10 months of age, so yes, Echo is completely normal. Smile

Yep, basically. :P Going through this with Simba, so I can relate big time.

Also, is she intact? Bean got particularly goofy, around that age, then shocked the heck out of me, her breeder, my breeder friend, and the vet by coming into season (CCs are typically older, and have more spaced out seasons, it was weird). Might be something to look out for.
