Can anyone recommend a shampoo that smells really pretty and lasts--but not too, too overwhelming. Thanks. (doggie shampoo, of course)

What do you know about treadmills?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I try to make sure that my dog gets his exercise, but I'm a wuss when it comes to walking in bad weather - and we get lots of it - from dust storms to just plain cold winds. I have a treadmill that I use and I've heard that you can teach a dog to walk on them, too. Morgan is a Bordercollie/Australian...

Long Term Effects of Splenda?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Many of you know that Deacon was diagnosed with diabetes. Since he is so young, his carb intake is less than an adults diabetic carb intake. Deacon can have 15 grams for a snack and 45 grams at meals. Deacon has always loved his juice and now that is gone. He can have the crystal light and kool-aid sweetened...

My puppy has a problem with being too friendly. When someone comes in the house, she runs over to them, whole hind-end wagging, and jumps all over them. [&:] Even tho she's small...it's annoying. So last night, after catching a movie with my fiance and I, a friend came back to the house....

OVER-friendliness?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Is there such a thing? My now 7 month old puppy is, WAY too friendly sometimes its embarrassing. Wherever it may be, whether on a walk down the street, at the stores, or even at the darn vet, she feels its her DUTY to say "hi" to EVERYONE!! This includes jumping on them, licking them, etc....

Game: If your life were a movie, what would its soundtrack be?
Posted to:

This is a fun game and can be spookily cool! If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be? Here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you...

GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS INSIDE, BE WARNED-it's not about the puppy!

*As per the warning in the title...graphic descriptions follow...be warned...* If you buy a puppy online from a puppy mill, or from a pet store, odds are you will be happy with your puppy. But it's not about the puppies-- it's about the parents. If you buy that puppy...

Punishment Has No Place
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Interesting article on punishment and why it has no place in the teaching phase of a dog's education: http://www.canineuniversity.com/articles/training/train_09.html We humans are often guilty of believing that the dog knows more than he really does. We think he is "spiting" or "ignoring"...

OK, what SHOULD I be feeding my dog??????
Posted to:

I did a search on Science Diet, which I thought was supposed to be a very good food and better than the IAMS, which we fed our Cocker Spaniel years ago. I haven't read ALL the posts that came up on the search, but it sounds like some of you think Science Diet isn't the best either. I know a lot...

anything for reducing flatulence (in dogs!)

This is a serious question - Bugsy has pretty bad allergies and had been doing very well on TWO. I bought the Elk formula because figured Elk was similar to venison and the rest of the formula is the same as the bison which he did great on. We are also in SEVERE pollen at the moment so don't really...
