So I feel kinda bad, Otto is getting neutered tomorrow. I had a duragesic patch put on him early this afternoon so he won't be in any pain tomorrow as they take 12 hours to work and last for about three days. This afternoon on our walk, this stupid woman who always walks her aggressive, poorly controlled...

Starting a Rescue? Independant fostering?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Has anyone here started their own rescue or done independant fostering? I'm thinking of having a small scale one, when I have the time and money. My local humane society "doesn't need foster homes, especially homes with children." Considering the amount of dogs at the shelter and the...

single, working, live alone, but want dog...possible? good idea?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Hello All- I am considering getting a dog, but my problem is that I work (somewhat long days) and I'm single and live alone. I don't think I'd want to put him or her in doggy day care all day, and I think I could probably get home once a day to take him or her for a walk, but that may...

A Problem with the I Collar
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Ok, so I've worked with a few people now who use the I-collar now and while I think it's a great idea and collar, I found a problem. It only allows one to walk their dog on the left...which...I would think some one like Cesar who walks multiple dogs at a time, would see the need to make them...

Mange and constant scratching?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
We have a 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier and Pit Bull mix. He has had mange 2 times. The first time we had the vet treat him and the second time we treated him at home. Both seemed to do the trick but the home remedy was much cheaper. I heard that mange can be a one time occurance or it can be a disease...

Teenie has an Easter dress!

She couldn't wear it on Easter (too cold!! she needed her fleece!), so when I bathed her today, I went ahead and painted her nails and put it on her. She was feeling a little camera shy. The nails are baby blue, and sparkly, but it's hard to tell in the photos.

Pepper spray antidotes
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Carrying pepper spray for defence against aggressors (human or canine) carries with it the responsibility to be able to care for your dog if it gets sprayed. It is also possible that your dog will be sprayed by someone else. I suggest keeping a copy of the antidote description with your canine first...
