I'm leaving "dad" in charge of all three kids this weekend. He's getting a LONG list of explicit instructions on feeding, pottying, bedtime, walking, playing, etc.

DOG ALMIGHTY - Humanization of Dogs
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
When I read this article today it reminded me of the discussion on "if you can't chain your dog to a tree..." I personally have always rolled my eyes when I'd see dogs dressed up or sporting nail polish and bows. It just looks so unnatural to me or as the article suggests, "undignified"...

Guess what DS#2 got me??
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Bless his heart, DS#2 is a pack rat. he is ALWAYS hauling home junk he gets for free. I have had to physically restrain him from bringing home free couches set out in people's driveways on MANY occasions. Well, Wednesday, we had new carpet installed in our lower level, so we had to stay out on...

Growling and biting...?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My sister went over to give Cyrus a cuddle today, and he snarled and bit her (more of a nip, not enough to draw blood or anything). This seems to happen a lot. At first I thought that he must be in pain (she mostly touches either his shoulders or flanks), but when my dad or I pet him there, he actually...

I brush Baily's teeth a couple times a week but he loves the toothpaste so much that I don't think I am achieving much while battling his tounge [ ] I am asuuming...

I am depressed, my Mindy was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, but overall she is not doing well, I have had her for 2 months now I think, since her human mom died, because neither the husband or the kids wanted to keep her, she was not eating, I finally got her to and just when it seems she was...

The poops for 6 days now...
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Hi, I am the loving owner of a 10 week old Lab/Coonhound. He has had the poops for the last week(vet checked him out, says poop is bacteria free), and we think it is because of some liver treats we recently got for training. They are Authority brand Liver treats. They are about 3/4 of an inch around...

Ben had a vet visit this morning. He is now fully vacc'd, micro'd, had another checkup and was pronounced perfectly healthy. [ ] But.....he weighs 17.5 pounds....at 2 months! Vet is not worried - he's actually very lean and she says he is not growing too fast for his joints....he's...

Border Collie mix questions
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
I found a sweet male border collie mix about age 5 at the shelter. He is black and white, about 30 lbs. No clue as to the rest of his mix. He was not overly jumpy at the shelter, just sweet and licked us. Question? This is a rowdy type dog, isn't it? I have a Golden/ Gordon for him to play with...
