Smaller pieces in Evo? Any Difference?

I'm just wondering if there is any difference with the new smaller pieces that Evo comes in. I got a bag before that was labeled small bites, and Max had no problems with it. The last bag I had was labeled regularly, and was the large pieces, but the most recent one I purchased was not labeled small...

I have an 11 year old German sheperd mix. He is an outdoor dog, and today he started acting strange and made his way inside {which he never does} and curled up on the couch, and he wont eat at all, and when you try to move him he seems like hes in pain, i cant move him, what should i do
