So, Friday I'm out of the car and Petsmart getting some stuff out of my back seat, back turned to everyone, just minding my own business. I had seen a rottie.....med blue flat collar, 3 or 4 shiney tags, slightly overweight, a bit of graying on the muzzle, wearing a prong collar hooked to a flexi...

Agility jump height question
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hi folks, Luna and I are back in agility (yay!) and I am wondering what height the jumps should be for her on a weekly basis. She is 19" and only a year old. The only time she jumps is once a week in class, and the jumps are usually set at 12". My gut tells me that is too high for her to do...

An 80-year-old church deacon was removed from the Smith Haven Mall yesterday in a wheelchair and arrested by police for refusing to remove a T-shirt protesting the Iraq War. Police said that Don Zirkel, of Bethpage, was disturbing shoppers at the Lake Grove mall with his T-shirt, which had what...

Won a dog door at silent auction
Posted to:

So we went to a local Humane Association silent auction on Friday night. We won 6 40 pound bags of our dog food, a Johnny Unitas helmet and an installation of a dog door from Invisible Fence. We have a fenced area behind our house and that's where we let the dogs out to pee. Shadow is our resident...

Where is Jewilee? I hope everything is OK! I just felt kind of lost without mindlessly chattering to start my morning. I think BF is going to take me to the rock climbing wall at our campus gym on Friday. So, I can skip the gym today, right?

Puppy Playground Incident - (mrstjohnson)

For the past month or so on Saturdays, I have been taking Charlie to an indoor dog playground. At first he was pretty timid. He looked happy and having a good time (tail wagging tongue hanging out), but stuck pretty close to me especially when the big dogs came to play. Each week he has been more and...

My dog has started to escape from the yard and than from a purposely constructed dog run, he has also been very clingy and almost helpless to do things without one of the family around. Does this sound like separation anxiety? He has escaped many times by using brute force and once he gets out into the...
