    what to feed your dogs

i am impressed with how educated most of the people are that are posting.  i have tried most of the ones mentioned, and found

them falling short.  i am very excited to have discovered flint river ranch for my finicky eaters with itchy dry skin, ear yeast infections, large soft stool (full of fillers) and gasiness, dental problems.  i have a list of ingredients i do not like to see and if even just one is there, i wont buy it.

flint river ranch has none of them.  it is made differently than any others that steam and extrude at high temps, that every one mentions..this is oven baked, therefore less heat and more nutritients and how the carbs are digested is ideal .  *content removed, posting for personal gain*

You know, I've heard nothing but good things about Flint River Ranch from people online. I've thought about trying it too. However, I recently saw a dog who was on it and it looked awful. Instead of looking 3 yrs old it had a coat like it was 9 yrs old. I wasn't impressed. Granted this is just one dog obviously.

I don't know how they can post it doesn't have fillers--it does too!  The two labs I sit for eat it and they have to eat like double what they would if they ate something else.  And, the poop situation is not good with them, I'm so glad they live in the woods and I don't have to clean up after them.

It makes me nervous that they have sent spammers to message boards.  I always thought it was a good food, heard lots of possitive word of mouth, but something is changing if they are resorting to this sort of advertising.

Last I knew it was multi-level marketing which kinda lends itself to such ...

I don't see how they can market a food with 23% protein as being a puppy formula! Plus, every single breeder I know who feeds/peddles that brand has had some sort of whelping difficulties, even when none were noted before.

I have never really heard from people who actually feed Flint River except for those who become their distributors. I avoid the food because low protein, high cost, and I don't like wheat in my lab's food. It makes him itch really bad.

Their calcium levels in some of the formulas are outrageous.  Probably explains the whelping issues.

I am not impressed with any of their formulas, but I did buy into the hype and try the food about 8 years ago when I had a rotti.  She scratched and itched, pooped and shed like never before.   Terrible results for a way overpriced food.

Isn't it funny what happens when someone tries to shove a dog food down our throats?
