Dog freaks out when I have sex
My dog has recently started pooping and peeing in the house when my boyfriend and I have sex. This is the only time he has accidents and he didn't start until a few weeks ago even though my boyfriend and I have been together for a year. The only thing that's changed is that we just moved into...

The resilience of reward-based training
After struggling with clicker training Kivi for the last year, I finally got some good advice and then made friends with someone nearby who could come and show me what I should be doing. It made SO much difference. My reinforcement rate was way too low and my training sessions too long and my timing...

How would you handle a pup prone to stroppyness?
I asked this on another forum and weirdly got bombarded with people telling me I was humanising my dogs. I was watching Erik with Kivi the other day and Erik was mugging Kivi for a ball, all growly and bitey. Kivi didn't like it, so he took to dumping the ball and pouncing on Erik and pinning him...

How to correct growling?
Just adopted a 6 yrs old fox terrier. He is obidient, understands sit, stay, catch. Plays well with kids, does not bark or growls at strangers. However, around mid-day he will start growling at the kids or me if we just pass him by. For no apparent reason. Lets say he is laying in the middle of the hall...

help with new behavior issues!
My dog is a Boxer mix - we think perhaps with American Bulldog. He is almost 4 years old. We rescued him from a shelter about 2 years ago - they foster group had him since he was a puppy for the entire 2 years before we rescued him. He is an awesome dog besides a few tiny issues we are trying to figure...

Dog has to go out multiple times during night
My 12 week old Dachshund cries at night about every 2 hours to go outside. I have her in a crate next to my bed. She goes every time I take her out. When I put her back in her cage she cries for about a half an hour. She has no problem during the day and I do not know what the issue is. Any suggestions...

I have a 10 lb mutt (Pom/Chi/Pug) who is almost 2 years old. Yoji is a great little guy, but I'm having issues with him when I take him out in public. From the time he was a young pup to now, people have been squeaking at him. You know what I mean..."Oh! What a cute little doggy! You are so...

6-1/2 month old German Shepard
My dog Jeter is very aggressive when going out for walks. He has become so big that controlling him on his leash, when he wants to get at something/someone, has become impossible for me. The other night while trying to go for a walk with him, we came upon a teenage boy on his skateboard. He pulled me...

Training Treats for Picky Pups?
I've trained numerous dogs and never run into this problem before. I can't find a good training-sized treat my pup will accept, so I'm coming to you, Oh Internet for suggestions. What works for your picky pup? I've got him on Blue Buffalo puppy for food right now, and I'm beginning...

Please Help . . out-of-control dog(s)!
Forgive my ignorance if I am wrong, but this is the closest I could find to an online canine psychiatrist! I wondered if anyone has experienced the following problem, or could offer some fruitful advice to enable me to deal with it. I recently rescued a dog - terrier mix - from the local animal...

Least Reinforcing Scenario
I just finished reading Zoomility by Grey Stafford, and he introduced the Least Reinforcing Scenario as a way to react to animals when they didn't do what you wanted them to do. You do nothing for 3-5 seconds so as to avoid accidentally reinforcing, at that becomes a signal to your animal to wait...

Behavior Issue-Willow
I really need some opinions on what might be going on here. I'm started to get really stressed. As some of you know, we recently took in a kitten. It was supposed to be a temporary situation but we were not able to find him a home. So, he's here-long term if not permanently. We are treating...
