Dry food advice...
Hello all! I just started my girl on the dry Wellness Core food. It would be an understatement to say it doesn't agree with her tummy very much - she's as gassy as ever and her stools are not looking so great. I know that sometimes the grain free food can affect their stomachs so I'm...

Avoidance behavior
My dogs have reliable recalls except sometimes Proof and Kuniva as soon as I call they will lift their leg on whatever they are next to. Most the time they dont have any urine left and I know they are only doing this to prolong coming back to me. They happily come in after they mark and they normally...

Here are Belle's runs from Agility Nationals in Tulsa. I was SO thrilled with her!!!! We made mistakes, but over all I couldn't have asked for a better dog. Ann Friday State Team Competition: Jumpers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-_8_kB5ewQ Standard http://www.youtube.com...

Grain Free Pros and Cons
I've had my bunch on grain free before and am thinking of switching back. What is the reasoning for feeding grain free? For some it's an allergy thing, right? I'm leaning more toward a grain free like Taste of the Wild because I think Finn, at least, would do better on it. He has been rather...

Well, I did it again (raw)
I put the dogs on raw (following Juliette de Baircli Levy's diet). If she raised generations of afghans on it, shoudl work for my old pups here. They are doing great actually! Gobie has some new pep. Darby's neverending yeasty lips, which I have to trim and put cream on daily, cleared up on...

Tracking for small dogs......
Brownie did a test run for tracking at a local field nearby us. The organization was moving on to Omaha though so he cant track through this place in town. So, I'm looking for some tracking clubs in my area thinking Brownie would have some fun. But, I know little to nothing about tracking. Anyone...

Best kibble?
Im not sure if anyone remembers, but I posted about it a while ago when my sister had her golden retriever Abbey PTS. She had tumors all over her body, and surgery was not an option. She has decided its time for a new dog. At first she was going to get another golden from the same breeder as Abbey...

Question regarding raw feeding
First off, I am new here and look forward to talking with all of you and swapping information. OK. I have a boxer and an Akita. Jake is the boxer and Kane is the Akita. They are both 5 yrs old. I am really wanting to feed them raw and have been doing quite a bit of research on it. I understand...

Maltese Yorkie - What type of food? (Nutrition)
Hello, I am new to this website. My girlfriend and myself got a "Morkie" (maltese yorkie mix). Her name is ginger. She is about 8 months old. The pet store owner instructed us to give her the Eukenuba Puppy formula till she finishes the bag and at that time we can change the food if she doesn't...

Evangers dog food
In my morning paper states the the owners of Evangers have been stealing gas and electric, 1 mil worth from the gas and electric co. I have always liked the dog food, but I wonder if they cheat on this ,Do they cheat on the food? This was in the Chicago Tribune 3/25/2010, page 10

Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice Adult Formula
Any thoughts on this food? It's fairly cheap at only $35 a bag (40pounds) compared to almost 55-60 bucks (30 pounds) for the other foods I feed. Here's a link ... http://www.diamondpet.com/products/diamond_naturals/dogs/dry_food/chicken_and_rice_adult_dog_formula/ Any and all thoughts...

How do I teach my dog to jump into the water?
I have a two year old Newfie, so obviously he already loves the water. However, he won't jump in. If I take him to a creek and he can't just walk into the water, we have to wander around until we find a place where he can. This is especially frustrating because there is a section that is deep...

Scenting and Tracking? For a little dog?
The new place I'm training at offers scenting and tracking, and it looks like there is a possibility I could make it to one of the times coming up soon. So, does anyone do it? What do you think about trying it out with a cavalier? It'd be some racing around to get to it, so I am trying to decide...

Vet says T-Bone is underweight !
So apparently T-Bone is a bit too thin. I feed him about 6 cups of Acana a day plus snacks. He's 8 months, intact male, active. Vet says great muscle tone, teeth, etc. but just not enough fat. He'd like to see he gain 5 to 7 lbs. How should I plump him up? Simply increasing his dry kibble intake...
