GROOMING INJURIES - BOYCOTT PETCO
THIS is what PETCO did to my dogs!!!!! I took Bella (female) and Rocco (male) to the Racine PETCO for their first Grooming on 3/22/11 at 6pm. I informed them it was the first grooming visit ever, and that Rocco had sensitive nails, due to hiking and play injuries. I stayed at PETCO for about 20...

Tummy troubles- acid reflux?
Hey guys, So, Lucky has me AND his vet stumped. He will eat dinner around 6pm, go out, poop, play, etc. Just before bed, he gets a benadryl for itching and a half a tablet of pepcid as well as a biscuit to (supposedly) help his tummy. He's fine until about 1-2am, then it happens: He wakes up pacing...

Lili's puppies (due mid-March)
Finnish Lapphund Lili (reg. Fidelis Villatar, dob 4/20/07) arrived today and as her "owner" (I've placed her under breeder's terms) had already suspected she is indeed expecting. I've updated my homepage, but as that is only in Finnish here's a brief description of the sire...

Valium??
We are having bad thunderstorms here and they are forecast for the rest of the week. Last night was terrible with the dogs..... I gave them the prescribed dosage of Acepromzine at 3:15 am when the storm started and it did nothing to help. Benadryl doesn't work with them, they absolutely freak out...

pus from eyes
My 21 month old golden has been getting pus balls from both tear glands for the past week or so. I don't know if it is just allergies or what. We feed her Wellness and also meat, carrots etc on top of it. But, she has been stealing the dried cat food I found out! Otherwise she is energetic, healthy...

White flower oil for arthritis?
Jessie limps after getting up when she's been resting. Usually she only limps for a few steps and then walks normally, but it's been bothering her more lately. She's had x-rays and her hips are fine but she has arthritis in both knees. It's the right knee that bothers her. She's been...

Wool balls - a great travelling toy
Hi! At our last vacation we travelled to the midlands, we had booked a holiday home at casamundo.co.uk where dogs are welcomed. Our dog is the playful type, so we needed to take some toys with us. We wanted to have quiet toys at the holiday home and were afraid to damage something, so we had a look around...

Puppy Vaccinations....
I have a friend with a puppy (Samoyed) who already had two sets of shots...one at 6 wks and the other at 10 wks. (DHPP) She was asking me if I knew what would be best for puppies shot wise and to be honest I just don't know. I was thinking likely just Parvo/distemper was all that was needed but...

Heartworms and Hookworms
Not to long ago I went to the vet to get heartgard. But I forgot that they had to check the dog for heartworms since heartgard is a preventive not a dewormer. So just yesterday I took my dog Joy to get checked for worms so I could treat her with heartgard. I also came for her yearly vaccines and a regular...

Safe Guard Canine Dewormer?
Has anyone used it? Results? I would like to worm my dogs and minus going to the vet and buying panacur from them, I'm thinking this might be a good alternative.

Phenobarbital.....health warning
Got this off a friends FB page....not sure exactly how it applies but figured maybe those using it might want to check into it just in case! urination changes
My 8 1/2 yr old boxer has started urinating in the house, and frequently. She has always been good about letting us know when she has to go out. Recently shes started peeing in the house and sometimes an hour or so after weve let her out. Also, she seems to be a little lethargic. Any ideas or advice...

Jezzy diagnosed with chronic bronchitis
Took Jezzy in for a basic check up today. She turned 7 earlier this month and I wanted a senior workup on her to rule out things and a baseline for the future. There were also 2 things I wanted to have checked out: her thickened chest that I thought was from weight gain and age, and a cough that only...
