Lex has been having some serious itchiness this summer. My vet has decided to put him on prednisone, since we have to slowly wean him down from it, he will be taking it for nearly 6 weeks. I'm really weird about putting things(meds) in Lex's body and was wondering if their is anything I can give...

Limping/favoring back leg...
It started 2 Saturdays ago, when she came home from the groomers. I posted about it in the grooming section, long story short Tootsie took a flying leap onto the concrete floor. She favored it for about 2 days and that was it. Fast forward to today and the limp is back. Manipulated it and nothing. Acting...

Discoid lupus erythematosus ( DLE)
My German Shorthair, Norton, was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus last week. Just wondering if anyone else has a dog with this.where you able to get it under control? Did you change anything in your dogs diet? Norton doesn't have any open sores. I would like to prevent that from happening. Any suggestions...

Crystals and Protein in urine
I have a ten year old airedale terrier, Bailey, that has crystals and protein in her urine. She has been ruled out for any type of UTI. We did a senior panel which included liver values, kidney values, thyroid, and cbc....all of which came back completely normal. Obviously with the presence of crystals...

Beagle puppy leaking, vet has ruled out UTI and other likely causes...
Hi all! My beagle puppy is 8-9 months old, and I got her 2 months ago. From the time we got her, she has had about one accident a day. I thought it was a housebreaking issue at first. 6 weeks ago she got spayed, and they found a urachal remnant that required them taking out a ton of scar ...

How nice...
took Tootsie to the groomers yesterday and the owner (former employer) told all the girls working, that Tootsie is a jumper. So when you pick her up hold her tightly and if she is in a crate thats off the floor, when you open the door she will shoot out like a rocket. Pick her up at 2:30, by 5 she was...

crusty nose
Since April my 13 year old cairn terrier's nose gets crusty on the sides, heals up, then is raw for a day, gets crusty, & heals. I do not know why, but his nose has not been "regular". It does coincide when I changed to a senior kibble. He was eating the regular Blue Buffalo kibble...

Nose flesh peeling off
Hello all, first post in the medical forum... Just noticed a couple seconds ago that the black wet nose flesh on top of Wesker's nose has flaked off a bit, revealing different color skin underneath... its about half a centimeter across, on the bridge of his nose. Is this something I should be worried...

Tinkerbell update (Callie)
I'd called my TCVM vet's office back -- Tink's been showing some sort of a little tick, quirk, wince, odd behavior for a while and I've referred to it in a couple of posts (the one on Finn and a couple of times in mindless chat). We took her to get adjusted (my TCVM vet is also a good...

The cure causing a side effect?
So yesterday morning T-Bone got his steroid shot for flea allergy dermatitis. It's doing the trick and he isn't itching at all, thank goodness, but he seems off. He's usually bouncy, happy, dorky, and he follows me everywhere and I can't even go to the bathroom by myself, lol. Today he...
