Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Our family cat Snickerdoodle (Snickers) was put to sleep today, he had a tumor in his elbow the vet said he was 99% sure it was malignant, and the only other option was to amputate the whole leg, and his being 13 and not in that great of health, ( hyperthyroid and a kidney condition) we finally made...

Rest in peace Sebastian
Sebastian ????- Feb 18, 2007 Out of all the strays that came into our lives you took the cake. You were Dad#%92s best friend and protector and playmate to the rest of the family. Dad always said you were one of the most hardheaded dogs his ever owned. I would agree ever time I had a date over...

My little wonder dog Nikki passed away today.
Nikki's body finally gave out. I held her close to me as her vet addministered the go to sleep forever liquid in her vains. I sit here blubbering like a baby because I hated to make that decision for her. I know it was the right one, but it still hurts deeply. Nikki has earned her silver...

Tragedy in the news... R.I.P Smokey.
I saw [link http://www.nbc5.com/news/11056636/detail.html?dl=headlineclick]this story[/link] on my local news today. That is truly heartbreaking and horrible! Something must be done about this, especially since this is not the only incident where an innocent animal died due to shorted electrical wires...

I just found this
May I go now Don't you think the time is right? May I say good-bye to pain-filled days and endless lonely nights? I've lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be, So can I take that step beyond and set my spirit free? I didn't want to go at first. I fought with all my...

The Cow Leash
I had a new class of dogs come for training last night. So, I'm doing a demo with one of them, and the owner handed me the leash - there I am in the middle of a class of strangers, with tears coming down my face. It was the Lupine black & white cow leash that got me. So, I had to explain to the...

Kirby
RIP Kirby. For better or worse, because of you, I have my beloved Aspen. You were a beauty to watch in the ring. Run free, handsome boy! [sm=angel.gif] FYI: Kirby (the Papillon) won Best in Show @ the 1999 Westminster Dog Show.

Tribute to TUTU/ PUPPYMILLS NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN
Hi Everyone - I usually don't send things like this out but I want you all to see our little TuTu. TuTu was released from the puppymill on January 20th and went to The Bridge on January 30th. Ten short days. Ten short days is all she had to enjoy a new treat she'd never had before...turkey jerky...

I suspect a hero's welcome at the Bridge
I can't confirm this and if/when I do I will post it. Most of you have seen the news coverage about all the tornado damage here in Central Florida. One dog has been found an reunited with it's owner that I know of:. More than one story has surfaced of animals who woke their owner/guardians...

Kelly
Just writing this down do not really know why-we had to put our 18 year old rescue dog Kelly down six months ago. I have two other rescue dogs that live with me and keep me busy so probably did not deal with the loss of Kelly. Today for some reason I put a picture of Kelly in a frame and put it up in...

For Sassy, just adopted and hit by a car.
This post is for Sassy, who has gone to the Bridge, but far too soon. Sassy was at our shelter for many months because she was "evidence" in a court case of neglect against a local rescue. She and the other dogs couldn't be adopted, but finally, local authorities were able to convince the...

Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee (Updated Jan 29/07)
I don't know if this is something you all would be interested in, but I thought it might be a comfort to some people, to have a visual of where their beloved pal has gone to, once they have passed through this earth. The photo below is a (perhaps not very good) representation of where they might...

Rainbow Bridge: A Tribute to Rescuers
Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals who had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly...
