Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Faith is my 13 year old greyhound - we have had her 11 years. She has very bad kidneys and lately does not look too good. She has lost a lot of weight and has trouble getting up our back steps. Rupert's best pal, Shelby
Shelby went to the bridge today. [ ] She had cancer, the vet gave her about 3-4 months, that was 4 months ago. She was having trouble breathing, wouldn't eat (this is a dog who could eat non-stop if you let her), and just looked miserable. Her mom (SO's mom) finally came to the heart-wrenching...

Brownie has crossed over to The Bridge.
I posted on February 23rd about my parents' dog, Brownie in another section. He was in poor health that seemed to happen rather quickly. He had a history of seizures, had meds to treat it. I came here hoping for some answers and Callie was able to help me find a wonderful holistic vet for a 2nd opinion...

Ursa left for rainbow bridge to be with Oshota
On the 24th of March, a saturday, at 5:36 pm we let Ursa, our McNab/Germanshepherd go to rainbow bridge. Ursa would have been 15 on the 24th of April. Ursa came into my life at the very young age of 9 days on May 2 1992. The owner was going to shoot her the next day with his 22. At 6 she contracted Lymes...

my friend is gone
My beautiful Lucy has gone to the bridge today. She was nearly 10 and had a mysterious optic Neuropathy that we tried to treat with antibiotics, antiinflammatories, diet etc--nothing worked. The vet stronly suspects a tumor of the pituitary gland as she also had some signs of Cushing's. We will miss...

Wondering how to deal... still grieving
[ ] I deleted my first post because I felt it was too depressing. Nobody had responded and I thought... maybe it's just bringing everyone else down too. This is a great place to be whether it's looking for information, asking advice, sharing photos and consoling those who have been through...

I don#%92t post here anymore, never posted that much to begin with to be truthful, and it might seem presumptuous of me to do so now. But I lost my dog yesterday and felt the need to post this on a forum with other people who love dogs as much as I do. Due to a recurring health problem I had to make...

I let Jax go today
About two weeks ago he started to vomit more often and didn't want to eat. He lost about 10 lbs this month and we had a blood panel done two days ago to check him out. I thought his liver perhaps. No, his kidney's. He would need flushing of them several times a week, he had anemia and a bad infection...

Two losses in one week
My husband and I are huge animal lovers and last week was the hardest week we have ever experienced. Two of our dogs became ill within a month of each other. Dusty our long haired Chihuahua, was thought to have seizures. We treated with meds but he became worse. The doctor decided he had a brain tumor...

rest in peace Zoe
Zoe unfortunatly had a birth defect where her rib cage was only 1/2 the size it should be. It was also twisted and deformed. So much so that if she layed down the wrong way she had a hard time breathing. You could see her lungs and heart moving. The vet said that he couldn't believe she lived with...
