The Cow Leash

• The Cow Leash spiritdogs Posted : 2/22/2007 8:15:18 AM I had a new class of dogs come for training last night.  So, I'm doing a demo with one of them, and the owner handed me the leash - there I am in the middle of a class of strangers, with tears coming down my face.  It was the Lupine black & white cow leash that got me.  So, I had to explain to the class that Dancer wore that leash for her therapy visits for five years.  I got it for her as a present the day she passed her CGC/Therapy Dog test.  My sweet girl at the Bridge...I think it was a message from her that I am not forgotten either. • tacran Posted : 2/23/2007 6:55:59 PM Anne, your post made me teary  . . . isn't it amazing how something so small can instantly bring our emotions right to the surface?  Something like the unique leash, a similar toy, a familiar behavior or gesture in another dog -- all are reminders of our precious angels we so dearly miss.   I asked Tonka many times before he left us to find a way to "visit" me or give me a sign that he's okay.  I know I would've had just as much trouble remaining composed as you did when you saw that leash.    I'm glad Dancer found a way to be in class with you.
