Is aggression allowed in your pack?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Reading through the thread on the CM's pitbulls, I was interested to see how strongly CM apparently opposes any expression of aggression in his pack. This is one place where I disagree with CM's practices. The way I see it, around about 90% of aggression in dogs is ritualised and will never...

I was wondering if there is anywhere online that lists or ranks dog breeds in terms of their overall health? I am curious about which breeds have the least amount of hereditary health issues and best potential for low vet bills versus breeds that have higher amounts of health issues and are therefore...

I think he hates kongs
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
For some reason, my dog has never really taken to kongs. When I put something in there, he works at it for about 2 minutes. If he doesn't get anything, then he gives up and leaves it alone. I even leave a milk bone halfway out the hole to get him interested. Do any of your dogs not like kongs?

When Should I Get Her Spayed?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I just got Tasha three days ago, she is 6 and a half months old and is not spayed and has not gone into heat yet. I don't know at what age they normally go into their first heat? I don't know when it's safe to get her spayed? I was also wondering if she will change at all after she is...

Trouble with thyroid levels
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Blackhawk, our 12 1/2 year old Dalmation, was diagnosed as hypothyroid a few months ago. His levels were down to .4, practically nonexistant! The vet put him on .8 Soloxine 2X per day. Within days we saw noticable improvement. In the following weeks, he has a totally new coat, lost the brown hyperpigmentation...

trimming nails?

Can you make appts. with groomers to just get nails trimmed? And if so, what is the approximate price? I used to have a dog that needed regular grooming and just got it done then. Do vets do it also and will they charge an office visit for it? I tried doing it myself but my hands were shaking so muh...

Which Clippers?

I think some of you on here are professional groomers. I have a question. I think I have decided on Andis clippers. I just don't know which ones are better. There are so many. I have narrowed it down to the 2-speed variety. I am just not sure what the differences are. Here is a link to the page with...

Oh my little man! It was like they were all auditioning for the part of The Most...
