Hello everyone, I posted here a few months ago and never got a solution to my problem so I'm trying again. I have a 2.5 yr old chocolate lab who requires A LOT of attention. Attention I sometimes don't have time to give. He has a couple habbits I need to get rid of through training or else...

"what is wrong with clicker training"

[link http://www.samthedogtrainer.com/Articles_Clicker%20Training.htm]http://www.samthedogtrainer.com/Articles_Clicker%20Training.htm[/link] I don't know what to say. Some of it makes sense, but then the rest of it seems misinformed. Like the one with the Welsh Terrier -- it seems more like the...

Ate a whole rawhide stick???
Posted to: Health & Grooming
This is bizarre. We just left our 11 week old Samoyed pup with a new rawhide stick (the pencil-sized kind) for about 45 minutes while running to the store. Came home and there is NO SIGN of the stick anywhere. (She was in a small room by herself and we have checked EVERYWHERE.) She has never gone...

I am so incredibly tired of having this discussion with my parents. I am just completely infuriated right now. Sigh. My parents have decided that they want an English Bulldog. This is very, very bad. My parents have NO regard for animals whatsoever. All living things are completely disposable...

Hi -- we have a sweet almost-2-year-old poodle mix that we adopted from a shelter last September. She is the light of our lives! She is also very attached to us; to me in particular -- follows me around from room to room, etc. I work at home most days, but in March, both my husband I have to take a business...

Turning Tricks

I knew that topic would get your attention! [ ] On several occasions, posters on other threads have said that they don't teach their dogs to do tricks. That's fine, and no owner that doesn't want to do so is perfectly justified in deciding not to. But, I guess the thing that puzzles me...

Tips on building a greenhouse?

Brushing her tail
Posted to: Training & Behavior
My dog can not stand for me to brush her tail. She is as big as I am so we both get tired and I give up trying to soothe her to let me brush it. She is a long haired saint and needs to be brush so no knots forms. I had a collie to do this but he was not as stubborn.Any ideas?

Perfecting the "Heel"
Posted to: Nutrition & Exercise
Emma has a really pretty "heel". Lots of attention, really nice position, always happy to carry out the command. The only thing is, I have to be focused on her to get it. *I* have to give eye contact, LOL. I'm sure there's something not quite right about that. If I get into a conversation...
