Ear Infection
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Does anyone know? Is it true that if a dog has an ear infection, the vet prescribes ear drops, not pills? I heard that antibiotics taken orally don't get to the ear because the blood flow doesn't go there on dogs. Do you know if this is true? THANK YOU!

Odd Food Behaviors?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I was just wondering if any other dogs do this, and why they do this. When I feed Sophie, she usually picks up a mouthful of kibble, carries it into the living room (where the family is), dumps it on the floor, and eats it. Then she goes back to the kitchen to finish the bowl. But that first mouthful...

Doggy Dreams?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I have a schnauzer puppy (14 wks). We got her about two weeks ago and I have been an absolutely paranoid "mommy". The reason for this was a puppy we adopted from the local shelter that passed away from some kind of a neurological problem. Anyhow, my question is: Do dogs dream? She takes...

My dog is a night owl, and he's driving me insane!
Posted to:

This is sort of a vent and asking for any suggestions anyone might have. Max is a night owl, and usually, it's not too bad. I can manage it. But tonight, he is driving me insane. We walked 2 miles earlier today. I tried to take him for a third around 8:15, but he refused to go. We got about 2 blocks...

My husband doesn't like the new puppy, Molly. For some reason he just doesn't like her. He says she's stupid, ugly and annoying. So, tonight, he made me an offer. Get rid of her and he'll get me a miniature dauchsund. I used to have a dog that was a Mini Dauch/JRT/Beagle mix... it was...

how long does heat last?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My dog, who came from a rescue group was supposed to be spayed. She supposedly had tiny scars consistent with the surgery. Well, last night she went into heat and it is awful. How long is the bleeding supposed to last? I bought some underpants and am using human pads and that is working fine but I am...

Most of you now that I got Trixie 2 years ago she was a 7yr old retired show dog and brood bitch. She is the sweetest, happiest dog I've ever met, but when we go for our walks she can never relax, she is in charge of everything and everybody and I've been working really hard w/ her, she also...

Do we have any medical types here? The really GREAT news is that the total cholestrol is 152, but there's other stuff I don't know what it means....everything is in the middle of the normal range so I'm guessing thats good. But, my platelets are clumped? What the heck does that mean? Anyone...
