Collies and Shelties
How can Collies and Shelties look so much alike and be different breeds? I have read that Shelties originated from Collies, but Im guessing that was a while back so how can it be possible for them to retain such identical looks?

Can you tell my dogs mix?
We got our dog from the Chicago pound some time ago but never learned her mix. She was listed only as a chihuahua mix. But she is clearly something else as well. She does not have the typical chihuahua face and looks more like a fox. Thanks in advance for all of your help... Justin

Border Collie
I am a new member for the dog forum. I do not see a topic for BC's so will start this one. I have an 11 month old pup that is 3/4 aussie, 1/4 border collie. Should I take this to the mixed breed section? I would like to learn characteristics of both breeds. Am trying to determine which, if either...

My sister just got a chug! It's the cutest dog ever!
my sister just got a chug (a mix between a pug and chihuahua) and it's the cutest dog we've ever seen. It doesn't have the ugly face of a chihuahua (or the shakes) nor is it a giant slobbering mess. She's the perfect size! Gone are the days of having some huge dog knock people over, jump...

Swedish Vallhund
Is anyone familiar with this breed? They were recommended on another board for someone wanting a smaller Norwegian Elkhound. They come in different colors, but the gray ones do look a lot like Elkhounds. I was just wondering if anyone knows about their temperment, etc. I'm not in the market for...

Guesses Welcome
My boyfriend's family has had this dog (Mongo) since he was a puppy (about 3 or 4 years, I think) & we've really been wondering what it could be. He's about 60 lbs, medium height. They also had his sister/littermate who has since disappeared. She was white. I apologize for the size of...

my husky mix
Miya is a husky/gsd mix, but I'm asking about the husky part of her. She's been vomiting the past few weeks maybe once every few days but she doesn't act sick or anything. Someone told me that huskies tend to eat more than they can digest and that may be why she's throwing up, if she...

The Bearded Collie, Beardies!
Although I've never owned one this is my breed. I am on a waiting list for a beardie and can't wait till I bring my pup home. I just love this breed, they are just the clowns of the dog world. They are always happy and will often find new ways to entertain. Anyone else have any experience with...

Cardigan Welsh Corgis
Fwee! Who here has one? Mine is coming early next year, from Lachlan Cardigans in Arizona ^_^ The litter theme is "fire" and so I've chosen the registered name of Lachlan Quinlake Hellfire, but I can't think of a call name to go with it, and I don't want anything common. If you...

behavior problems
Hello everyone! My german shephard puppie has so much energy. I want to know how long everyone takes their dog for a walk in a day? I've tried obedience class and she just wanted to play the whole time. She is now 9 months, and doesn't listen to us. It is very frustrating. Any suggestions...

Nova Scotia Duck Toller
I have a 3+yr old Aussie Shepherd and have been toying with the idea of adding a second dog. I've scouted lots of different breeds, but I keep coming back to the Troller. I was wondering if anyone here has had one or experience with the breed? Thanks

Boxers?
I haven't seen any Boxer posts, so I was wondering if anyone else owned one of these dogs who love to do the kidney-bean. 3 out of the 4 in my pack are Boxers, all really lovely (atleast I think [ ]) brindles.
