The pics are great - very cute!  But what about temperment/personality etc...?  Most of the Boxers I have met are incredibly high energy and very goofy (funny clown like!)!!  I have only met 2 at agility competitions, 1 in competitive OB - all of whom tend to get the zoomies!  What's their trainability like?  They look like very fun-loving but I am curious to know if it takes them longer to mature than other dogs?

Boxers can be "high energy" or hyper dogs, but only if all their energy is not expelled correctly. For instance my boxer was quote -not listening to me, running around like a fool, never ever obeyed me, until I started walking her and exercising her on a regular basis, now she obeys every command and she never runs around the house causing chaos. boxers need lots of exercise and lots of time to run and play, and lots of love. You cant leave a boxer in the backyard on a chin, they'll go nuts! As for maturity , yes it does take them longer to mature, females usually calm down after their first litter and males around age 2 or 3. As for training , they are super smart and super easy. My boxer and her parents seem like they knwo english, its nuts! My girl must know at least 30 words in english, or commands).
such as cookie, outside, go potty , get ur toy, back up, squirrels, cats, babies, etc. plus all the basics. She can also distinct between her toys : she has a stuffed minkey and a stuffed cat. if you say get ur minkey she always grabs the right one, or vice versa, when i talk yo her its almost like she is really listening and understanding.

We just got a new little boxer puppy named Bruiser he'll be 3 months on the 10th of Oct. He's a beautiful docked & floppy fawn & Very Spoiled already needless to say. I agree boxers are "funny clowns" & can be very hyper if let uncontrolled. Boxers are one of the easiest dogs to train as they are considered to be a "working class" dog in the human world. Boxers are Very loyal & compassionate animals. Their sensitivity is astonishing ! It's been said that more than any other breed of dog, the boxer's moods mirror those of their masters, their eyes almost human like in their expression, & in them u can "Clearly Read Their State Of Mind", they r clearly the definition of independence. While some may mellow out with advanced age, a Boxer is a phsically active dog, they love to roughouse, play fetch cheerfully with an object & dare their owner to take it back.  They'll refuse to move over if u push him aside....until they know you mean business...lol they love to jump up & have amazing much muscular force behind these loving greetings!! Their Independence demands a Strong Trainer. But they amazing learn the skills taught very quickly & r very eager to learn & earn their masters praise. ( when trained correctly). They do tend to get Bored Very Easily if given the opportunity, they require much love , affection, praise, alot of chew toys, & a strong unwary trainer. Boxers also Love Children. My little man can often be found snuggled up to any of my 4 kids , he seems to find them....amazing creatures. Most frequently though he loves to tag along right beside my 3 yr. old & shockingly enough listens even to her sweet little " No Bwoozer....Sit!!!" command when he does something she doesn't like. (which of course is very soft & subtle...but he knows she means business!! lol) Personally, in my lifetime, I have owned Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Weimeranears, Labs., & Mixed Breeds in addition to the Boxer. I loved them ALL & each had their own "special differences" both pro & con.  Sorry for this post to be Soooo Long...... But after reading , wanted to post some info. about them. I'm new to this forum I'm regulary a member of Boxer-Dog.org forum, Any of you Boxer Lovers should come join us for some great boxer chat sometimes if you get the chance & haven't yet checked it out!![sm=happy.gif] We'd love to have ya join in with us!!!!
