Brussels Griffons

    Brussels Griffons

I've just adopted two Brussels Griffon females named Rosebud and Mocha Latte.  Our otherwise dull life has been energized and enriched in ways we never imagined.  Keeping up with two baby terrier-related mischievous -makers keeps us hopping.  Anyone who wants to talk "griffon" just email me.

    Dear vanilla,
Had a mix I bought in Belgium and brought back from overseas that was our MOST precious pet we've ever had.  Been trying to "replace"her for years but here in WV this breed is almost unheard of.  Also, when people first see their smushed up faces, laugh and refer to them as monkeyfaced dogs.  My mom thinks they resemble little old "uppity" ladies.  But the breed is closely related to terriers, yorkie and border.  They were specially bred to be a varmint hunter and I can see that hunting capability in mine already.  They are lightning fast, extremely intelligent and sensitive.  They can easily be voice controlled only.  The breed is supposed to be difficult to train but these two were a snap.  Carate trained in about a week.  They are a small breed, do not shed and their coat requires very little maintenance - unlike my Maltese's Mercedes and Lexus which like their namesake cars - are expensive and high maintenance.   They do not shed and are the best for people with allergies.  I'm currently looking to stud them in April for the first time.  Am very excited about this venture but I DO NOT intend to make them pup producers.  In fact, I'm against this and have never bred before .  I'm not into shows but love the breed so much and I have two very good standards here.  Sorry - probally more than you wanted to know about my dogs but I can't quit once I get started.

    Vanilla,
I bet the pet store LOVES to see you with all your exotic pets.  How wonderful for your daughter to grow up in a home filled with such love and variety.  I take it you also have a puppy?  What's life like in Newfoundland?  I've flown over but never stopped although my son has visited.  Other thsan cold, I bet it's otherwise very beautiful.

Newfoundland is a nice place.Beautiful.Our weather is a little unpredicatable tho.It could be sunny and warm and in an instant it may start storming out.But it is really nice here and I could never leave here! This is my home!! If you ever get a chance, you should visit.Did your son like it here? Newfoundland is small, but nice and rich in culture and tradition.

Nope.I do not have a puppy or a dog at the moment.I grew up with dogs tho and love them.I take in fosters sometimes and work (all volunteer) for Beagle Paws.I will eventually have a dog here to stay...but for now,I only foster.
