A dog who is always hungry
Jake currently eats twice a day (8:30ish a.m. and 6ish p.m.) His weight is steady on the amount he is being fed. Within an hour or two of eating he is in my face... I'm pretty sure trying to tell me he's hungry. If anyone as much as walks near the kitchen he's beside himself with anticipation...

Doggy Activity Suggestions?
I love my Harley Quinn. We walk, run, and drive everywhere together! That being said, I am still a new pet parent that wants my precious pup to be active and happy. What are some fun and exciting activities would you can suggest to keep Harley stimulated? She is a rambunctious little mutt who is up for...

Thinking About Getting A Puppy For Christmas?
No matter what time of year please re-consider a puppy or dog for a gift, but especially around holiday time. Did you know that the 2 months after Christmas are one of the busiest times for shelter and rescues? So many “Christmas” puppies and dogs are returned because the novelty has worn...

More marking trouble with KONA
More marking trouble... KONA has stopped marking on the gate, but this evening he went right to a corner lifted his leg like he was outside at a tree! I yelled NO .... He kept on going. I don't know what to do. He uses the bathroom when he is walked and routinely uses the potty grass on the balcony...

Is Your Dog Afraid of Storms?
Imagine yourself as a dog, completely unaware of what is happening in the sky above you. You may or may not be scared by any number of other things, but when the sky lights up and thunder crashes against the windows, you're going to tremble a bit. A dog has no idea why a storm occurs, and almost...

Dog suddenly aggressive towards one of my cats.
I have a 3 year old Miniature Border Collie that we adopted last year around November. We also have 4 cats and they got along really well! Suddenly though, she has become aggressive towards only one of my cats. Before they would always play together but today she snarled and lunged at the cat and throughout...

Chevy's story
As I read through the messages on this forum, some of them remind me of my chevy. I want to post our story just to put the information out there. I got Chevy from a backyard breeder February 14, 2000, he was 4 month's old. He seemed kind of shy till I got him home, but once he was here & in...

Territorial dog drama with large age gap.
Stamp the mutt will be 13 yrs next month, he's in pretty good shape for his age except the cataracts, heart murmur, arthritis, cysts/tumors (we will not do surgery at his age) and hearing loss. He's pretty happy and pain seems to be minimal. I've had him since about 6 weeks when he was abandoned...

Help desparately needed!!!
Hi everyone. Our family has a problem. A dog is tearing us apart. My mother has a 7 year old male beagle that has been part of her life since he was a puppy. She has always had problems with him as he has taken to her and is very over-protective of her. My dad passed about two years ago and they never...

My puppy is becoming aggressive only towards us
We bought a great dane puppy at 11.5 weeks old from a breeder after recommendations that they are gentle, quiet and easy to train. They are lazy and good in apartments so we thought it would be the perfect dog for us. It has become obvious that the breeder did no training with her and I would be surprised...

How to House Break Puppies
How to House Break Puppies... Every pet owner will need to, at one time or another, house break their puppy. Even if you plan on leaving your dog outside most of the time, it is a good idea to train them early on where they are permitted to relieve themselves. The last thing you want is to have them...
