Dog Leash Without Handle?
This thread is an update to this one . In that thread, Liesje had recommended a A.S.A.T (All Season, All Terrain) lead which I'm now interested in buying. Well, I contacted EliteK9 about their A.S.A.T. leads. A woman got back to me and recommended one "without a handle." This is her...

Is the Dog Whisperer turning the page?
I usually just read these forums, but ran across this article and thought it would be right up your alley. Looking forward to seeing some thoughts on this one: Cesar Millan has requested a symposium with the world's leading positive dog trainers in response to mounting pressure and the (rumored...

easy walk harness or gentle leader?
Please give me your opinions on walking shelter dogs with no leash manners (mainly pulling). Which do you suggest or prefer, and why: an easy walk harness or a gentle leader? (30 pounds and up) Thanks.

How to manage an aggressive dog?
The other Rachel Ray thread was very interesting to me. And, this topic came up. I was hoping someone would post but since they didn't I will. The thread had me thinking about what I do myself and if it's right or wrong. What do you think is needed to manage a dog aggressive dog? I'm...

The Pit Bull Guru
Interesting guy - using positive training with large breeds - grad of SFSPCA Dog Training Academy - and working on a documentary, I guess about Pits - called "Judging the Innocent". If anyone spots that when it comes out, I'd like to see it. http://www.blogger.com/profile/00699512482438505561

Something to worry about?
Hey guys! I've noticed when Simba is greeting new dogs, the hair only by his tail(not all of his hackles) stands up. I can't remember if its with every dog he's met or not, but I just want to make sure its nothing to worry about. He doesn't show any signs of aggression when he's doing...

Control unleashed class #2
I almost broke down in to tears last night! Things did not go well and I felt guilty and frustrated all at the same time. First abbie barked and lunged all the way to our box. Then while I was trying to do mat work, she could hear the dog on the other side of the barrier so she started reacting to...

Questions about housebreaking
Okay, so I have a few questions. When is a dog technically housebroken? Simba does not have an accident UNLESS we did not take him out when we know he needs to go. Which obviously never happens because we take him out when he paws at the door. Which brings me to my next question/concern. When he does...

I need some help with Finn :(
I got Finn at 4 months last May. He will be a year at the end of this month. He started in training classes in June/July. He took a basic class, an advanced/CGC class, and we are now in our second rally class. I absolutely love working with him. He is so much fun! I also took him to parks and for walks...

Change in dogs behavior (any input would help)
I work at a doggie daycare and boarding facility. We are still small and we have a good relationship with all our customers. We have a dog that has been coming to us for almost a year now. He is a lab mix, about 2 years old. He lives in a house with another female chocolate lab who also comes to daycare...

Interesting Pit Bull Trainer
Here's a guy who went to San Francisco SPCA Dog Training Academy and works with Pitties in the NJ area. Just wondering whether you guys also know people who are positive but are working with some of the "bite list breeds" - I think it would be awesome to have a list to refer to for those...
