What Should I Advise My Friend?
Lately I have been reading quite a bit about feeding a dog different types of diets. Now, I have no idea what to tell my friend to feed her 3 year old bulldog. My dog eats naturally (a mixture of organic store bought dry food and wet food and food that I cook myself), but my friend has been hesitant...

Is adding water to dry food unhealthy?
Hi :) My dog Princess has suddenly stopped eating her dry food... but I tried once, adding water to it, but she still didn't touch it, but after it got soaked and all soggy, she loved it. So maybe I should start feeding it to her with water... I just wanted to know if anyone has had any bad experiences...

Does anyone skijor?
I will be training Zeke do skijor soon, we just have to practice some of our obedience a bit more. I just got the package with all my gear, though, so I'm really excited to start! Best of all, the harness fits perfectly, and Zeke does not mind wearing it one bit. He even accepted the booties! He...

Need a low fat food recommendations for a Labradore
Its been awhile since I posted here. When my yellow lab was about 3 years old I switched him to Raw food(Omas Pride) after reading about raw diets here. He was doing great. Fast forward to now, he's almost 11 years and last sunday he was admitted to the ICU very sick, vet didn't even know...

Mid-grade lamb and rice kibble
I'm looking for a mid-grade lamb and rice kibble. The only foods Boomer has done well on in his life were Sensible Choice by Royal Canin (recalled, and never came back), Diamond Naturals (obviously not comfortable with this anymore), and what we're using now, Nature's Recipe. Nature's...

California Natural Grain Free Chicken final thoughts
Well... things were going great with Lexi and Darby (bichons, darby with the yeasty issues) while on this food. Darby's yeasties cleared up, even the tough lip fold ones- for a while. Last couple of weeks she's back to rubbing and scratching at her face and her lips are red and yeasty again,...

Proper Puppy Feeding Amounts
Hi everyone, I recently rescued a lab mix puppy and was wanting some feedback on the proper daily amount to feed him. The feeding chart on the Purina ProPlan bag suggests somewhere in the neighborhood of two cups a day for a dog that will reach 50 lbs at maturity. He's a little over 4 months old...

Dog refuses to listen without treats
My husband and I adopted a Rotweiler when she was around a year or two and have her as an outside dog along with a Saint Bernard (also a she). There's an area we have them at the side of our house with the backyard and front gated off. The front and back are fenced as well and almost everyday I let...

Picking dry dog foods....
I wanted to avoid this topic because it causes so much controversy, but I am giving myself a headache researching dog foods and trying to eliminate whats good and whats bad for my dog. (sorry, this may get lengthy) My ex and I were feeding my boxer and his american bulldog Purina One lamb and rice...

Getting Fussier by the day
I know you guys have all heard this before, my dogs won't eat just plain food anymore. I have a 12 yr old lab (who is on grain and chicken free dry food) and a 5 yr old little mix, we had them on dry for seems like forever. Do dogs get sick of dry, I mix it up alittle with different brands...

A food observation
I just wanted to sortof vent, or put this out there... I have had dogs for 16 years now. I've fed every style of food there is to feed, raw, pre-made raw, dehydrated raw, just-add raw, kibble, cans, homecooked... everything but vegetarian. I've always kept to the best brands of dry/canned foods...

Layla and the teeter-totter
I've had my little Layla in agility classes since last fall and she LOVES IT. I am enjoying it as well, it has helped her overcome a number of fear issues that appeared when we replaced the carpet in our house with flooring when Layla was about 6 months old. She did not like sliding around and quickly...

Great Life food
Just bought some and I think I am liking it. Ingredients look awesome, except for the fact that the first ingredient is salmon instead of salmon meal. I may have read somewhere where the salmon is freeze dried, and that might make a difference, don't know. Anyone else try it?
