Shailer weaving poles
I found an old vid of Shailer weaving poles. This is when I was traing him for it and he is not so good but not too bad. I really hate the poles and am planing to add a stable base to it but that will have to be when I finish fostering . I think its a good way to learn on what I did wrong and what you...

Rawhide
I've always been against giving my dogs rawhide. I used to buy Penny rawhides all the time back in the day. However, I just think they're dangerous, after all the horror stories about them getting logged in the intestines, choking, etc. However, my mom bought the girls a pack of rawhide twists...

Just HOW important are grains??
Curious to know. As you all know, I switched my dogs to homecooked 3 months ago, i.e. mixing Preference from HK with a variety of meats, organs, eggs, etc. These dogs get a very well rounded diet. My 3 dogs, 6# Pom, 7# Chihuahua, and 53# Nova Scotia are doing great on the diet, with better attitudes...

Meat Bones(or is it Meaty Bones?)
They're beef ligament, chicken breast, and something else. Dehydrated. Of course, they're not mixed together. One kind is Beef Ligaments. One is Chicken Breast. Ect. I gave one to Taz, and he but off HUGE chunks of the beef ligaments. Is that safe? I've got another one for Sam, but I'm...

Taurine in dog foods...lady spoke of it being harmful...
I was in an individually owned pet-store today, one I really like and the lady's really seem to know their stuff. They don't try to feed you crappy info, and/or bribe you into any particular product. They only stock and sale the higher end quality products typical of your individual stores;...

Need for "more" speed
This is an agility question. Belle is laid back, but she does love agility. She is graduating from excellent A (AKC) to excellent B soon in standard (or at least I hope soon) She needs two more legs. We had good runs this weekend if it were not for he handler she might have finished. In excelent A you...

Evanger's Hunk of Beef - canned food
Has anyone tried this one before? I opened a can for a lab and wow...it looked and smelled really good (definitely better than my cooking). Question - how balanced is this food since it is just a hunk of meat (no bones or anything)?

Omega-6s and Inflammation
Basically, omega-6s are key in immunity and reconstruction of tissues by their action of marking/targeting sites requiring repair or defense. They don't cause[/i] inflammation, they simply are part of the process of beginning it. Remember that inflammation has a role in the repair of tissues. It's...

fish meal
I've been feeding my dog Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream Caanine Formula with smoked salmon (dry food) as a snack. In the ingredients, there are 3 types of fish meal. The company says they preserve this with Vitamin E. They said whatever their vendors preserve the fish with, it is killed when...

Scout's 2nd Agility Class
This session only had 2 teams show up because of the lake effect snow and the roads were getting bad. We first ran a 24 obstacle course and then worked on certain sequences of it. Mind you, he has only been doing sequences since August and has been training on equipment since February. Denise, our instructor...

Okay to mix in?
For the most part my dogs eat Hund-N-Flocken Solid Gold and do well on it. Occasionally they get scrambled eggs, chicken fat, raw bones, raw hamburger and mackerel, but not enough anymore to really count as a large part of their diet. (Until the puppies are fully housebroken and have better control of...

Feeding raw.
Right now my dogs eat kibble. 2 times a day. So when feeding raw do you feed once a day or can I feed them twice a day? I am switching to raw because I just went through a 37lb bag of dog food in a week and a half feeding Lillie,Joker, and Fynn. 40 bucks for a 37lb bag of dog food. If Im gonna have to...

Losing Weight, Need Suggestions
I am having problems keeping weight on Bevo. He usually weighs between 74-75 pounds. Currently, he weight 63 pounds. He is on prednisone for at least another month, so we can't prey model as we usually do. His vets have recommended that he be on a grain free diet, with less than 35% protein. Currently...

Since I have a bit of time waiting for cookies to bake, Ron, I'll move the posts over here.... ron2 Pardon my blonde moment. Nikon in a show? Wow, he must be learning fast. Is it some kind of working dog show? If I remember, he's from working lines. Or this maybe too OT to ask. Liesje Ron...

Healthy toppings?
Well I feed Shailer crap food and I want to make up for it. Its not really my fault as my dad is the one that buys it and his spending budget is $20 for a 50lb bag. His foods consist of Purina Alpo and or other stuff that he finds. I have become aware of the good foods out there but its a little hard...

How did you get started in Showing?
And how did you choose your breed? I've always loved dog shows and dreamed of being in the ring at one time in my life. But in reality I have no idea where to start! Lol. Right now I'm focusing on sports but in the future I would like to start showing. Basically I'm just looking for suggestions...

Day 1: Conformation Training (Sowilu) *Pic Heavy*
So I went to Tracy's place today. It was and still is raining but the good thing is that it stopped for a little while while we trained. She first showed me how to handle the leash and how it is placed on their heads. Then she show me how to stack Pilot. [IMG]http://i139.photobucket.com/albums...

Rally training question
Hi, Selli and I are working on our rally moves. She has all the basic moves down except one, the Halt-One Step Right-Halt. She does not understand the concept of moving her whole body sideways. I have tried slipping a leash around her waist and sliding her over and moving her over with my hand, but both...
