Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Prayers for Blizzard
A co-worker of mine had to put his dog to sleep yesterday. I haven't gotten the entire story but I do know that he had some health issues, an injury to both ACL's. I was hoping we could all wish Blizzard, a beautiful white dog that they rescued, a speedy trip to the Bridge. I know the family...

Sad News During Vacation
A few days before going with all extended family members on a vacation, I got a strong feeling I didn't share or heed. My family always thought it sad that I gave up vacations because of my pets and since intuitive feelings are often not really intuition but cold feet I went with them this time....

Guilt phase of grief
It's been less than two weeks since we lost our beloved Lucy to cancer. We had some time to prepare ourselves, knowing that the diagnosis came far too late for us to do anything about it. We kept her happy and comfortable in her last days, and her passing was painless, with Lucy appearing to know...

Maxine, 1992-2006
Maxine watched our children grow from kids to adults and brought untold joy and love to our family. We had her put down this morning, on the verge of her bad days beginning to outnumber the good. Maxine was our first dog, and she was the best old bitch a person could ask for. We grieve and give thanks...

Enlightening Experience
Hi all, Just thought I would share a little story with you, as sometimes our furbabies let us know that they're okay and waiting for us at the bridge. This happened in November 2003 It was 3 days after Candy had passed away, and Thanksgiving was over, and everybody was trying to get back to their...

heaven
The chukchi have a proverb. How you treat your dogs determines whether or not you go to heaven. If you have treated your dogs well, they will await to pull your sled into heaven. For must of us, that's the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you I-doggers
I've posted a lot of questions in regards to my new dog, Roo, but tonight I ventured over to the Rainbow Bridge section for the first time and read some of the posts about guilt and grief. I cried and cried and cried. I had never even heard of the Rainbow Bridge before and I've lost two dogs...
