Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Dancer
Miss Dancer spent her morning in the sunshine out on the grass, got carried out to the barn and felt the hay breath on her face one last time. She was kissed and hugged, and told how much we loved her and would miss her until next we meet at the Bridge. Her packmates came in to her pen one by one, to...

I have a senior dog who has had behaviour "issues" all his life and can not go to a vet. It is his time now to help him pass on. Someone from Animal Shelter is coming, and will give him a tranquilizer by needle in rump, then 20 mins later the last one in his paw. I was wanting to have him...

Baby Girl
Today we said goodbye to our girl. Almost 12 full years of fun and love. The decision was hard but lord decided that today was her day to return. Today is my parents 43rd wedding anniversary, maybe it was fate. Last week we started having issues with loose and runny stool, after a trip to the vets...

Duncans Gone
He's the chocolate lab in my profile pic. He was six years old and was struck by a car. He made it to to my driveway to die. It took me three hours to dig his grave. He weighed 100lbs. I have had 10 dogs in my life, and if one didn't come home, oh well, I mildly missed them for a few...

A poem written by Eugene O'Neill
I've never seen this one, and thought I'd share. The Last Will and Testament of An Extremely Distinguished Dog [align=center] The reputation of Eugene O'Neill as the American Shakespeare was established even before his death in 1953. O'Neill's output was formidable - more than...

dont cry
Don't cry for the uppies That life has set free A million uppies Forever to be Don't cry for the uppies Now in God's hands As they dance and they prance To a heavenly band They were ours as a gift But never to keep As they close their eyes Forever to sleep Their spirits unbound On...

Horrible sadness
This could very well be my last post on here. As some of you know I have 2 Dalmatians and a 5 month old German Shepherd dog along with 3 cats. About a month ago we rescued a little kitten from downtown. He was running around, appearing to have been dumped on a busy street in the middle of the city...

I lost my beloved Max
I lost Max, my German Shepherd, on Saturday. The pain inside is so bad that I feel like I'm going to fall apart. I can't do my work because I can't stop going outside to stare at his grave. The amazing thing is, my son put some flowers on his grave and even though it has been so hot here...

Maggie
As many of you know, we have had the joy of owning an English Springer Spaniel named Maggie for many years. If you remember she was pretty sick a couple months ago and we took her to the vet. After several medications and treatments she was back in okay health. Unfortunately her condition got pretty...

Run Free, Duke
My cousin (who is also my best friend) and her husband have had Duke (a red, short haired Dachshund) since they were first married 12 years ago. While they've had many different animals over the years, Duke was the only constant. Recently, they had him tested for diabetes and were told he had some...
