Dancer

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

For anyone in the Massachusetts area, you may want to pick up a copy of the Gloucester Times from Wednesday, Oct. 11.  There's a story about Dancer in the paper.

Maybe someone who has access to the paper online can copy and paste it for us.  I'd enjoy reading it.

Anne, I  saw this on DA, ( I PM'd you, don't know if you got it) and only now am I getting to your fine tribute to Dancer here. What a wonderful thing to have a dog for as long as you have been able to love Dance. Her age is an indication of the love and care that you gave her.  God bless you both!

I miss Janet...a lot. I too wish she would come back.

Thanks, dyan.  I hope it's ok if I "adopt" Bubby as my favorite living black and white on DA, since I only have red dogs now...[;)] OK with you, Bubblegum? I'm sure Miss Dancer would love it if you were keeping the torch lit for her where her avatar is.

I feel like such a putz I am just now seeing this for the first time...

Anne, I am sorry for your loss but I feel inspired by the true love and respect that you have shared with Dancer and try to pass along to the rest of us. I have always admired the gentle spirit you have when it comes to training our dogs and some of your first posts to me when I joined this board and recommendations with Boss have made such a difference in how our lives together have been. I can only pray that I share as many years with him and Gracie as you have had with Dancer.

    Run free Dancer!!!

As it is, I know that we had a cooperative relationship, based on trust and understanding, one that she enjoyed as much as I did. That's what I wish for all your dogs, and for you all to understand.

Beautifully said.  Sorry that you have the loss of Dancer, but how wonderful that you had such a beautiful friend in this dog.  I recognize the truth in what you write here.  I hope she is with my beautiful husky.  He was also a fine friend that I miss since this past spring.

trishanne, you will never be a putz!!! You are the kind of owner every dog should have - open minded, kind, and willing to work at training.

dogslife, thank you for your kindness, and I'm sorry for your loss too.
