I lost my beloved Max

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

I dont know how you numb the pain.  As far as I can tell you, you dont.  Its a long hard road but it will get better.  Im so sorry for your loss.  Run free Max[sm=angel.gif]

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dog only a couple of days ago as well and I know what you and your family are going through. At first the pain was unbearable and all I could do was cry. Some things we do to ease the pain is we talk about our favorite memories with her and look through her ;photo albums. You just have to know that Max is in a better place now and that he will always be with you in spirit. Max lived a very happy life and he loves you for it. My thoughts and prayers are with you. If you ever need to talk feel free to PM me anytime.

I believe that you are doing the right thing by reaching out to others.  I lost my 27 year-old horse 8 months back and it has taken much more time than I had thought for my pain to begin to evolve into something positive like memories, smiles and laughter.  Don't try to numb the pain, or your numbness will spread to other areas of your life. Acknowledge it for what it is, and this acknowledgement, as well as time will help you turn this pain into something beneficial.  Although still sad about my horse, I can now think of her and smile as funny memories run throught my head.  When you are in a better place with your grieving, I recommend that you write a short narrative about Max to yourself or to the friends who have given you support.  Although hard to get though the tears, it seemed to help me.  Best Wishes, Tara

I'm sorry to hear about Max.  I'm sure the flowers didn't wilt right off for a reason.  I think they send us messages, best they can.

Tara, I know how bad it is to lose a horse, too.  My old man, 21, died two years ago.

    <<>> to you both.

Teri - Our thoughts and sympathies are with you.  It feels like your heart is turning inside out, because that's the way it releases your Max's spirit to be free.  He may be physically gone, but he lives in the cells of your being, your memories of him, the stories you continue to tell of him.  He was loved, and that gift is something you both deserved.
Best wishes for a healing heart.
