Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

R.I.P. Garfield
We lost our kitty Garfield today, he accidently got outside and was ran over by a car. He was mostly my uncle and Mama's cat but I loved him too. He was a sweet kitty who loved to cuddle. R.I.P. buddy you'll be missed. Garfield. [IMG]http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/HorseLovinLady/My%20Cats...

We love you Wolfie..
We had to let our cat Wolfie go to the bridge this morning. He was only 5 years old and died of cardiomyopathy. It just came out of nowhere. One day he was running around the house like a maniac, the next day he couldn't walk and was in critical condition. Twice we were going to let him go and each...

Sophie--My Heart, My Joy
This is to honor my little Sophie Joy. She went to Rainbow Bridge two years ago after going to the vet for a "simple test". This was five days before her third Birthday. A life far too short, but so abundantly full. She was given to me for a special time. She did not return home, but remains...

Well done, my little Tin Soldier......
Toby has gone home. For the past 8 months I have had the honor to have in my home a 13 or 14 yr old Yorkie. I named him Toby. He was living on the street. His only crime was getting old. He was blind, deaf, stiff with arthritis. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and liver disease shortly...

MY BELOVED DOGS
I'll never forget the dogs who have crossed over. You brought so much happiness to us. We'll all be together some day. Run free with the wind my beloved ones; Smokey and Duchess, my childhood dogs, both purebred boxers Gite and Gidget , my poodles and the first dogs I could call my own...

Run Free, Piper
My brother and SIL wonderful great dane crossed the bridge today. She was such a sweetheart and definitely taken too soon at 7 years old. She was all black. My SIL got her from a breeder in WI. Piper was the first dog for my SIL. She got her before they got married. She was a very active dog, but in...

Loki
Loki passed away on March 20, 2008. He had been having strokes, starting a week before before his death to the point where his life was no longer enjoyable and he was slowly dying. His vet recommended we have him put to sleep, so we made that heartwrenching decision. Bye, Loki. We'll really miss...

Bye Beautiful Sam (mrstjohnson)
DH's brother lost their beloved Sam (Samantha) tonight. It sounds like she had either a stroke or a seizure and died fairly quick. She was 14 years old. She was the first beagle I ever met and DH and I loved her so much. Bye Sam, we will all miss you... Here she is at our place right after...

Farewell to our sweet Iggy
With heavy hearts today, we made the decision to let our sweet Iggy cat go; it’s been about 6 weeks since he had a decline in his health and we discovered an inoperable mass in the abdomen (located near the mesentery). We embarked on a palliative route of meds to stimulate appetite, control nausea and...

Cheech
One of BF and I's good friend's dogs, Cheech, went to the Bridge last night. Cheech was adopted from our HS and lived 12 happy years with his owner. He loved nothing more than to go to bonfires on the beach with all of our friends, and finish off warm beers. (No, he wouldn't drink lite beer...

The Rainbow Bridge - A Norse Legend
For those who may not have ever read the legend: By the edge of a wood, at the foot of a hill, is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, when their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, is a place where each beloved...

Rest In Peace Shado
Rest In Peace my sweet boy Shado. Shado was put to sleep on July 20th 2007. I bought him for 600 $ from a very good breeder, whom I had contacted because I wanted a dog whom was already house trained. I got him on June 3rd 2007, he was fine when I got him. So, I brought him to the vets were he told me...

In Honor of Bubblegum (and Dancer)
Dyan may want to start her own thread here, or not, but I wanted to start this anyway, for a very special reason. When my heart dog of a lifetime, Dancer, passed away in 2006, I had been posting on another forum in a section called "Black and White Dogs Unite". Her passing left me without a...

Well, some very sad news from my family today. As those who know me already know, my sister is a professional equestrian. One of the horses she owns is very dear to her heart and thought by those in the community to be the one that she goes to the olympics or pan am games on. He was a 7 year old dutch...
